Where did the red mower and the drill press go? I hope you saved the items that you took out of the garage, including the pieces of lumber, so your in-laws can decide if they want to keep, donate, or throw the removed items away. The garage organization system is beautiful. ~Margie

Wow! What a transition. Great "organization" video. What would make it better is if you could tell us where you got all the gadgets, holders, and containers you used to make it happen. Especially those snap-into-place pegs for the metal peg boards. Thank you for sharing this with us. It gave me some great ideas for the organization in my condo. We do not have a garage, but I remember when we did, and I sure could have used this video back then.

Many of us have our Christmas stuff, outdoor cushions, and other seasonal stuff in the garage because we have NO OTHER PLACE to store them! It would be nice for once to see organization of everything that was originally in the space that is needed! Getting rid of seasonal items is not an option for most of us!

Looks great where are little things? My husband likes to build things so he has a million types of screws and nails Staples for the staple gun light bulbs the list goes on and on. What can you do for all those little things?

You can get the Container Store to design your space for free. Right now the system is on sale thru July. I recommend you install yourself. They send you videos showing exactly what to do along with the printed layout. The cost is worth it. I did 2 spaces for $3,500. A pantry and large utility room. Now I'm able to get 25% off of any one time order. You can even do this online but it truly was so much better working with someone in the store to hear their ideas and things I would have never thought of. They personalize for your needs.

I'm familiar with the elfa system. They are definitely an investment. I save money and wait for a sale. They are worth it and long lasting (I've had mine for 6 years). I get compliments on my pantry and closets all the time.

I am working on my garage so I was interested in viewing this. I would have liked it better if I could truly see you taking their items and rehoming. A lot of what you put on the system was new items. What happened to all her planting pots? Other than moving Christmas items to the basement you did not explain what was purged.

Cas, I don’t understand something about Canadian houses. Since you have such cold, rough weather, why do the houses only have one car garages? It’s not a big loss in California, where I am, but I would think it’s essential to have a proper garage in Ontario. SMH…

A pet peeve of mine is people organizing other people’s spaces without including them. And for all they did, it still doesn’t look like a car can park there. I’d be interested in hearing how often the in-laws call asking where something was moved to when they can’t find it. Sorry, anytime you do not include the owner of the space in the process you get a thumbs down from me.

I think with all due respect that this garage is not that big that will make hard to find things again. Plus it’s pretty much all displayed and the bins have descriptions of what is inside. I think Cas did a great job and it show and the in-laws reaction.

If one of my kids did that to me, even if he/she were a professional organizer, I would be angry. For me a better gift would be to help me do it. Some people would appreciate a surprise like that, and I’m guessing Cass and Joe know his parents well enough to have no doubt which reaction they’d get.
