This is great! Those of us who live in genuinely small spaces with next to no storage holler at KZbin whenever we're shown a basement or garage WHERE ALL THE STUFF actually is. Working out ways to hide things in plain sight, while still keeping it accessible and leaving space to move around, is an ongoing dilemma. Thanks for the ideas, Cas and Emily.

@mika72.-Bois7 ай бұрын
Hi! I am with you on that! Definition of small can vary a Lot! From one country to another! The kitchen there is my dream kitchen! Probably 4 x the size of my kitchen! One thing I find curious is placing the microwaveoven above the cook top! 🤔 I feel there would be a risk of being burnt by steam from pots on the stove! And could make the microwave too high to reach easily! Often seen in north American kitchens.

I only discovered you today and I have already watched a couple of your videos. To cut a long story short I have been in my flat since June 2019, and have been in and out of work since then with a serious problem with my back. So not only am I physically limited the finances are tough too. This week I've had a bit of good news on the money front (only a couple of hundred pounds about $250) but the difference this has made to my mood (even though though the cheque hasn't arrived yet) is huge. There are lots of videos on You-tube helping with decluttering and that kind of thing - and many of them are excellent - but you have 'clicked' with me. I'm not a copy cat, my flat is totally different and much smaller, but you have made me think. In the matter of a couple of hours I have already thought of solutions to make living here SO much better and on a limited budget. Thank you so much. Sending best wishes from Oswestry in Shropshire, England. Good night (it is 11pm). xxx

Nice! I would like to share my best trick to store shoes in the entry space : the Ikea Billy bookcase. It has changed my life! My shoe size is 10 and it fits over 70 pairs of shoes and boots. You can adjust the height of the shelves and add as many shelves to customize the piece. I added the Oxberg doors half glass, half wood, and for the part that the glass exposes, I used baskets to store sandals, scarves and other for a clean, clutterless look that doesn"t expose the shoes. The shoe organizer from ikea that you showed is nice, but only stores about 8-12 shoes and no knee high boots, so it is not practical. A small Billy with double doors would have stored at the minimum 12 shoes and with additional shelves over 40 shoes! Last tip: put one shoe facing front and the other one facing back to maximize shelf space. Love your channel and your energy, I get so many good organizing ideas, thank you!

💕Thank you Cass for this video! And thanks to Joe for his brain power and knowledge of woodworking and figuring things out with the shelving in the entry way! It has given me ideas for our little apartment. I have always heard of using the vertical space of your home especially if you do not have a lot of floor or storage/closet space. It is just the figuring out of what will work just right for that vertical space. In addition, our home is 80+ years old and I am hate putting holes into the walls as they are plaster and lattice-built walls. I need to pray to find just the right shelving with a built-in desk for my bedroom now that my brother has moved into the front office/guess/sunroom space. However, I would like to get a desk and shelving that could easily transition into that space if he moves out of that space or moves completely. I had to pause when you pointed out your slippers. We grew up on a farm in Wales so school was a couple of miles away by car. One day our Mother dropped us off and drove away. HORROR! I realised I was wearing my slippers, I was mortified, knowing that my fellow pupils would make fun of me (the entire school was a total of 22 pupils - four to eleven years) - being so small we all knew each other and siblings, parents etc. An entire parish would know that Gaynor had forgotten her shoes. By the end of the day they ALL believed it was a deliberate decision on my part. "I wanted to be comfy", I said!! Sorry for a long story. 😆🤣🤣
