I got an old small dresser from the side of the road, after cleaning/painting, I cut foam board in sizes for squares. 2 half, 3, 3 half and so on.

I put my scraps in a bin with similar quarter yard pieces of same color family. I want that color, I go to that bin. My sewing room will not accommodate a gazillion different bins for 1 inch and 2 inch, various sizes. Wish it did. Work with what you got!

Where can I get the pattern for the squares quilt behind you?

We don't have the pattern available. It's simple 16-patch blocks separated by plain squares. Hopefully that helps!

I realize this is yr old video. But I am new, but received a huge tightly packed box of scraps of a sewer. So all kinds of shapes, sizes, patterns and colors. And since I just started don't have any notion of what kind of quilts I will do. So whats a good basic organizational way? It is so overwhelming. 😢

It is always overwhelming at the start. I would start by sorting by color. Iron them if they are wadded up or wrinkled. I would put each color into a ziploc bag or plastic shoebox. It is hard to say what will work for you. It all depends on the types of quilts you want to do. You may want to just trim off the weird cutouts and maintain pieces as large as possible. You may be inspired to make some precuts. The biggest scraps I will cut into 10 inch squares and/or 2 1/2 inch strips. Smaller pieces could be cut into 2 1/2 inch and squares. Those are very useful sizes. Weird little strips and chunks are saved for paper-piecing.
