I just got a 10 x 14 shed and your video gave me a bunch of ideas. I live in the Northeast I’m debating on insulating the walls.
@JackofAllCarbinc2 жыл бұрын
Glad it helped, If you are like me its harder to do it after you finish the project than before so if its a shed you want to keep items in it in a somewhat decent temp then i would. My shed does not have any insulation since i had under a nice big shade tree. 6 months later tree branch broke off and summer had stuff inside baking temperatures were way up there in the shed unless its stuff that can handle wild temperature swings i would insulate before you start the build.

A wonderful job Sir! Looks amazing. Where can you find the slatwall with the inserts?
@JackofAllCarbinc2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, the slatwall can be purchased at any ficture display store around your are or if you dont have any of those a more expensive way is someplace like uline......one other option is you can look at places like offer up and search for businesses going out of business and buy their used slat wall at a rally great price.

Great video what did you do to your floors?
@JackofAllCarbinc2 жыл бұрын
after alot of going back and forth I honestly just painted them grey, was going to try and do flooring but honestly the light grey paint makes it easy to clean and maintain.

You did a great job with organizing your shed, great ideas...I'm building a 12 x 16 steel reinforced concrete and block shed, I would have to find out if my local Home Depot carries some of those materials, Selection of materials is very different here in Puerto Rico.

where do you get the black slat wall with the gray stripes? its the wall you have all the Milwaukee power tools on? 3:13 in the video?
@JackofAllCarbinc2 ай бұрын
Hi the grey is not from the slat wall. its sleeves they sell separate. you can try and find at a local business display store and just ask for the sleeves that provide strength

You need to start using horizontal videoing (turn your phone on the side)

Thank you for feedback, Just started doing videos and any little bit helps, I realized how bad it looked as far as the area being videoed ....too late of course :( hopefully if channel goes well will invest in a good video camera one day :)

can you do an update & show what your shed looks like a year later?
@JackofAllCarbinc3 жыл бұрын
sure ...anything specific? its really pretty much the same as before nothing has changed
@ironwill6653 жыл бұрын
@@JackofAllCarbinc just how it has held up over the year as far as durability, ease of cleanup, that sort of thing.
@JackofAllCarbinc3 жыл бұрын
@@ironwill665 its very easy to clean since i dont have much stuff all over the floor and clutter so it really just takes a quick sweep once in a while due to dirty shoes when i get in there but everything else is pretty much the same as you see on video. Nothing has had any issues, ...only thing was the hidden storage. The lift up counter started rubbing a tiny bit on the edge when summer came along ...guess wood expanded just a bit so all needed was a slight sanding and thats the only issue i have had, all hinges holding strong, and looks as the day i filmed except maybe a few extra items inside.
@ericthomas74744 жыл бұрын
Weighting the door down... How's the hinges holding up?
@JackofAllCarbinc4 жыл бұрын
No not at all. They are tuff shed hinges which are super heavy duty the slat wall is very light as well. The shed door was also very heavy duty build, so yes was happy with that portion of the shed and tuffshed.

What did all that cost? Not shed, just the stuff you bought for organizing?
@JackofAllCarbinc3 жыл бұрын
To be honest, not really all that much, I Have a sickness called bargain hunting lol and most of the stuff used was things i have bought on clearance. countertops cost me 5 dollars at ikea they were returns, the flowwall was about 100 and i got it with the hooks but again got in a store called the outlet in California, slat wall was 50 dollars but the biggest cost was for the 2x4 BUT I had alot of it left over from other projects . Sorry probably not what you were looking for but MY cost was probably around 600-800 to include paint/hinges/wood/counters/slatwall. Im pretty sure the actual cost IF i would have bought it all brand new would be just over 1500.

Nice build out, but never store dangerous or poisonous liquids above the ground, just encase they leak.

Makes sense, Thank you for that tip. will rearrange a bit, never even thought of that.

Id hate to need a tool in your hidden storage area if I was in the middle of a job with stuff all over the bench
@JackofAllCarbinc4 жыл бұрын
Yeah i thought of that, For my set up my shed is not really a workshop its just for storage of all the excess stuff i dont want in garage. The tops are never used as a worktop so this setup worked great for me. Thanks for watching.
