Don’t have a hmd currently but I’m very curious to ask how a scene capture camera would render for VR. Considering the scene capture is attached to a player camera, how does it know the way to render a 3D scene for each eye?
@offworldlive11 ай бұрын
that's a totally different concept. this is a 180 VR output. if you are talking about live-streaming two eyes of a VR headset that's a different thing.
@pontosinterligados11 ай бұрын
@@offworldlive yes I know the output. I work with this format on videos but never outputted anything from Unreal. It happens that I was working on a project for VR and I was considering an effect which relies on camera capture 2D. I was wondering how the feeling would be for eyes, since I don’t have a way to test in VR atm.
@offworldlive11 ай бұрын
if you are including any dynamic elements then it's better to render both eyes at the same time because otherwise they will be different for each eye@@pontosinterligados
@pontosinterligados11 ай бұрын
@@offworldlive but I guess there isn’t a pipeline to create two scene capture 2d components (one for each eye) to render a scene to a single texture, than this texture would display a slightly different render for each eye, right? think of the output of a mirror or a portal being created in a sublevel and displayed on the current level inside a material applied on a specific surface.
@offworldlive11 ай бұрын
@@pontosinterligados yes but normally with VR you are live-rendering if it’s a 2d image or if you want a video you make a 180/360 VR otherwise the person has to be totally still with the headset

Will this work for Apple Vision Pro Immersive Video? Edit: And will it also work with Movie Render Queue with Pathtracing?

now that KZbin supports 8k VR movies and quest 3 can display these, I would love to start creating some content for KZbin using UE5... frankly, i am surprised that it is rare and even the videos shot in the real world that say "8k 3d" or similar, are often less than that or poorly done, something that should be easier to iron out in UE5.

I would pay for this if I could get it to work. All the settings in the details panel are fine. The problem comes when I throw the camera in sequencer, it just renders the square preview view and not VR180

yes - you can set a custom resolution. If you add DLSS you might be able to get that output but it's pretty high resolution so might be tough on the GPU

It would be nice if you mentioned that you need a paid license to do this. The "free download" version only has equirectangular option in the 360 projection type settings, VR 180 is not an option.
@offworldlive10 ай бұрын
That’s not correct. Which plug-in version are you using? All the latest versions have VR 180

@@offworldlive The latest full version (using the installer) from your site would not install the "NDI 5 Runtime" because it can never connect with the server. Your "Virtual Production Studio Free Project Unreal 5-2" free download actually works however there is no 180 option.
