Hey man, my cpu will use 1.3 to 1.4 volts inside Need for Speed HEAT while being utilized around 40%, and other games as well. I know what I'm doing with my PC, so I usually clean reinstall windows for a fresh feeling of the things. The voltage that I said above is while using all stock settings in bios, using load optimized default settings, and without any other overclocking program. Also with a newer bios version, not the latest tho because I find it less stable for undervolting. I saw that amd says that 1.4 voltages can happen while gaming, and that ryzen 7000 uses more wattege than zen 3 or older. So my question is, since you said that your 7000 series cpus stay at around 1.25 volts, are they stock, and if so, is your ryzen 7 7700x also at 1.25 while gaming? Also, what do you think about this voltage? Idk, I usually stay with an CO of 20 on my ryzen 7 7700x while limiting the ppt and tdc, not edc tho, because I want my processor to give me that peak performance if possible, but staying generally at a lower temperature. And while gaming sits at around 1.30, only crossing 1.4 for a second very very rarely.

This is great! I used to do static Vcore on intel back on 9th intel, but that isn’t trivial task. So after upgrading to ryzen 7000 I used a simpler approach which is the curve optimizer + power limit + temp limit. It does help by quite a bit but I see temp still goes to close to 90 a lot and I feel there’s some room left on the table to further reduce the voltage. Not sure how curve optimizer works but back in the days static vcore oc had the best stability

This is sort of how I oc'd my R5 2600 lol. People say not to use static voltage but either I'm too stupid to understand how off-set properly works or the way it works on this board is "wrong" (unintuitive). So I decided to stick with a safe, stable voltage and have had no issues (that I know of). For reference the "Optimized" results have it usually at 1.2v and then maybe it goes a bit lower when all cores are in use, but the processor never truly boosts or stays to 3.9Ghz as advertised. It barely touches 3.8 and stays usually in 3.725 or 3.75Ghz. Even with the new cooler (AK400 plus). For 3.9 with no issues, I can have it at 1.22V and it's more than ok. At 4.1 I do need to take it up a notch to 1.33 for full stability. I put it at 1.35 I believe just because it makes no difference and to be sure. It's an old boy but it still runs!

Hey man, I watched the entire video along with some others you have, and I’m still not sure how far I can undervolt/overclock my cpu. I got a ryzen 5 7600x with a b650 eagle AX mobo, 2x 16gb 5600 ram. I have gone as low as 1.12 volts and 5200ghz. I’ve been using the ryzen master to overclock/undervolt. Could you do a video on it?

I personally don't use Ryzen Master, and as explained in this video, ALL CPUS ARE DIFFERENT, meaning that you need to really lose some time and test the stability of yours :D

I like undervolting because in factory they use voltage for worst case scenario cooling and hot climate so with good cooler you can save running cost. Overclock in past 4years is not a good idea factory push it behind best point so little underclocking to find best efficient point is good idea where linear Voltage starts turning exponential. Overclock should be recomended for old games that use 2 cores.

Great video. Fabio, how are you? Man, I'm having a problem with my pc, which is hard to find information on the Internet. I have an R7 7800X3D, MSI B650 Tomahawk, 32 gb ram 2x16 XPG Lancer 6000 mHz CL40, 1 sata ssd for the system and had an HD for games and documents, 720p monitor from LG. I build the computer in July last year and I'm using the integrated graphics, To wait the launch of the new generation of gpus from AMD and Nvidia. Recently, I replaced the hard drive with a Crucial P3 plus ssd (I was unemployed and I needed to change my hard drive, but I was short on money). After I changed the hd for the ssd, the problem started to happen that, when I play, voltage peaks in the VDD_soc that reach 1.38 V. Before I made the switch from the hard drive to the ssd, in whatever bios I was in, I played games and never gave these peaks. It always stayed below 1.30 V. I even used override mode at 1.290V and there was never any problem. After I put in the SSD, reinstalled games, etc., the problem started to occur and I tried to return to the HD to check if the problem would continue, and, in fact, the problem continued to occur. but the problem persisted, so I went back to the ssd. I needed to reduce the processor voltage to 1.22V, with an offset of 0.05V. Would you or someone from the channel have any tip, information or help that may have happened? I'm afraid that something has happened to the motherboard or processor. Cheers from Brazil.

I have a question, I have a 7600x with a gigabyte b650 elite v2 and I tried to enable pbo but it has a bunch of different profiles. What do they mean?
@janoskiss80407 ай бұрын
I do not know either but I guess they are indicating the max temperature (90level... can mean 90 degrees max target but I still do not know what do the levels mean ). But do not touch this, it is quite misleading. PBO can be enabled with custom settings somewhere under CPU settings or AMD overclocking (can't remember from the top of head.) You can tweak the CPU package power (PPT) there too and that is also a good way to lower temps.
@popluciandorin5 ай бұрын
For ex. 80 level 4, it mean 80 degrees Celsius max temperature and pbo curve optimization -40, 70 level 5, it mean 70 degrees Celsius max temperature and pbo curve optimization -50 and so on.

It was shame that I have no idea about PC parts for many years so I checked with my friend who is still catching up PC parts news. Because I wanted to get a budget desktop but not too budget last year. He suggested me to go for Intel CPU (i5-12400F which is good) since AM4 platform is nearly "ended", AM5 is expensive especially DDR5 RAM. But I just found out AMD has a few best value CPUs for gaming recently.... Anyway, I also believe my current CPU still can last me for many years😊

@hydraxxorion5387 ай бұрын
Since the arrival of Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) v2.0 and the options (Curve Optimizer, Max Boost Frequency Offset, etc.) several years ago, manual overclocking on Ryzen has become completely useless and even counterproductive (particularly on single thread performance), the only manual overclocking which is still of interest is adjusting the frequency of the InfinityFabric (FClock) and again this is starting to lose power. interest since the arrival of CPUs with 3DV-Cache, their additional L3 cache allowing them to strongly compensate for slow RAM and IF.
@AncientGameplays7 ай бұрын
As explained, no, that's false. Static OC was useless for the 3000/4000/5000/6000 Chips, but Ryzen 7000/8000 actually benefit from manual overclocking. I even test Curve Optimizer versus manual OC, and I very much prefer the static OC temperature wise
