Perfectly done. Engaged versus disengaged - that's a hard thing for people to learn. Just stand there, be calm and do nothing. Let the dog figure it out - put the onus on the dog.

@@TheRadicalBehaviorist what's most impressive is just how fast this is getting for Tora with Ethan handling her. It's a hard thing to do for people. Why? Because it's a bit embarrassing, and it's using unsuspecting members of the public, who probably can't read the situation and might feel threatened, and dog owners don't want people feeling like that because of their dog. That's where the temptation to intervene and shut the behaviour down comes from.

Such a simple concept. Dog trainers had me either doing a food scatter or have the dog focus on me by dishing out treats. If my dog wouldn’t take treats then I was too close. 🤦🏻♀️

@@FromCommands2Connections I remember being told that too.

@FromCommands2Connections the two things trainers have people doing is either a food scatter or a move back and "mark and reward" when the dog disengages and follows you with eye contact. No learning takes place in those scenarios for the dog at all.

@@AndreannaKourouma it's important to pass on knowledge to our children, especially when my son has his eyes on Boerboel's. They are next level dogs.
