You sure know your stuff. I have my 70 Roadrunner on a Rotisserie at this time and am painting the undercarriage . The car was easy to take apart and your videos are FANTASTIC for helping me put suspension back together . I did get a new Dana 60 rear-end from Moser and was going to go with Feel Firm for Hangers but after seeing Mancini thats what I'm going with now . You ROCK dude ! Thanks

I’m amazed how easy the nuts and bolts came out. An Indiana car would take penetrating oil and maybe some heat. 👍

The advantage I have for most of them is I replaced the springs less than 20 years ago and the car has spent most of it's life since then out of the weather. When I replaced the original springs it wasn't so easy lol.

I suppose I’m a bit weird, I really enjoy seeing the upgrades, but what really excites me is all of the take offs that you will have to put into the Cuda project. I guess I just really really like resurrecting the dead, The project most people wouldn’t even touch. Seriously though,. Great upgrades. I can’t wait to see this Challenger back on the road.

Thanks! I'm beyond excited for the cuda project! Just wish I could really get a jump start on it, but other things have to come first. It's day will come and when it does it will be epic!

no lube goes on the outside of the bushing, it goes in-between the pin and bushing, hence the pin is what moves not the bushing 👍

Yup I cringed when I saw that... Let's see what happens when he takes a hard corner. *PoP!... goes the bushings. lol

I am finishing up my front bushings, tie rods, upper control arms, steering box. What would you feel from the rearend to suggest addressing the rear suspension? Would it bounce on bumps? Anything else? As I finally am getting it roadworthy and am trying to identify issues and deal with them strategically. Thanks for posting…. Good stuff!
@LifeatSpeed2 жыл бұрын
There are a few signs. You can do a visual inspection of the bushings on the leaf springs and if you have it sway bar and see if they are deteriorating. If the rear end is sagging, the leaf springs are worn, and then of course how much movement there is in the rear when you go over bumps or push on it.

Great video. I plan to do the same upgrade this winter but I can't find a ride height reference to help determine how far my existing springs have sagged from stock. Can you provide the measurement from the center of your rear axle straight UP to the wheel well trim? ESPO Springs & Things sells +0", +1" and +2" options in reference to stock spring specifications. Just need to know where my car sits now compared to stock so I can pick the right springs. Thanks!

can you please provide a list of parts you purchased for rear suspension. thank you in advance
@LifeatSpeed2 жыл бұрын
Certainly! Leaf Springs: Hemi springs with stock arch from ESPO Springs n Things Leaf Spring Poly Bushings and Shackles: ESPO Springs n Things Shocks: Bilstein Rear Sway Bar Mounts, Endlinks, and Poly Bushings: Firm Feel Leaf Spring Hangers with Reinforcement Plates: Mancini Racing I don't have specific part numbers as I called each company and told them what I was looking for and they shipped them out.

Where and what kind of leaf springs did you get for this project? I know I'm late, but just thought I would ask since I am about to tackle this job myself.
@LifeatSpeed11 ай бұрын
I got my springs from ESPO Springs n Things. They offer a variety of options. I went with stock height heavy duty springs.

Also a dumb question , but where did you get the new bolt to mount the Mancini hanger to the leaf springs ? I cant find any or I'm using the wrong name for the parts . Thanks again
@LifeatSpeed2 жыл бұрын
I ordered the hanger kit from mancini and it included the bolts. I also got a new set of bolts from ESPO Springs n Things with the new leaf springs, as I ordered that as a complete setup as well.

So for the front end do you recommend Poly Bushings or new rubber ? Thanks so much
@LifeatSpeed2 жыл бұрын
It really depends on your goals with the suspension. If yiu want more compliance go with rubber, but if you want to maximize your suspension performance and increased feedback in the steering wheel, then go with the poly. Personally I upgrade to poly on all of my vehicles.
@sparlin882 жыл бұрын
@@LifeatSpeed Thanks for the super fast reply . I will also go with Poly . Again Thanks
