Thank you for the video. I have watched this video over and over and I’ve even shown this to multiple soldiers I’ve encountered over the years. Hope you are doing well, thank you again.

Good leadership bro. The Army needs more NCOs that are willing to go further to train the troops.

I have learned more under this mans leadership over the past two years then I have in the 13 years total they I've been in. Your statement is spot on. Not one person in our platoon would hesitate to follow him to combat.

in the 8 years (give or take a few years or months) from January 2009 to August 2018 that I served in the Alabama National Guard and Army Reserves, I never got a straight answer on how to properly pack a Army rucksack. I just threw all mission essential gear into a civilian ruck with OCP camo that had dividers and pockets then just memorized what pocket or pouch that I had each item in. But the bad thing i found out way too late was that improper weight distribution is hell on your back smh I will gladly pass this knowledge on to the next generation and hope that they will listen.

I like your video style, you jumped right into it and didn't waste time with unnecessary commentary. And I think you said this was for drill, like a drill weekend? I've been with two different units over four years and never got a packing list that didn't also require PTs and PT shoes, winters, extra boots, poncho, and toiletries kit. Ridiculous task to try to cram all that into the new-ish waterproof bags that are dry-bag style (with a ziplock + buckle seal, not strings).

I always put my poncho and WW top in the sustainment pouch. Readily accessible. Personal preference but I’ve also zipped the divider and put the sleeping system in the bottom portion so it’s easy to get out and put back in in a hurry. Also how my DS did it.

Great vid. Interesting to see it’s not massively different to how we pack our Bergans in the British Army

Good video, great leadership for doing it. But... Teach to pack for the unknown. Never put your sleeping back in your ruck. That is like putting your AidBag in your ruck. Pack it like you have no idea where you might be. Could be warm in the day and fuck cold at night, might rain, might be so dry it sucks the moisture right out of you. Ziploc bags are your friend. Take tape and wrap your ruck up tight so it rides center on your back. Assault pack should be ready packed as well. Coban tape works really well to wrap it all up tight and requires no cut to open it all up. GREAT VIDEO.

Thank you for your service, for your instruction, for all of it. Unpacking it to show ease of use was really helpful, too..... it further cemented the how & the why. Excellent vid!!!

Seems like a very small packing list. Only the bivy cover for a sleep system? No life fighter tent? Fort Polk JRTC I had to take a bunch of shit lol

Great video. Question: was your sleep system just the outer bag, or the full set? It seemed that you used just the summer sleeping bag which is easy to stuff in, but the full winter set may be harder to stuff. What's your advice on this?

The bottom of my large molle field pack has two flaps that are zipped together, but it also has a row of eyelets on each flap as well like they were meant for lacing something in place. Do you know the purpose of these eyelets?
