I don't recommend dropping any Mercari package off ,without being sure package receives a scan and you obtain a tracking receipt. For example if you leave your package in your mail box or insert it inside a usps blue box , if lost or stolen and it has no scan or you have no receipt. You will be out of luck demonstrating proof that you even did so, also Mercari protection will not cover a non scanned tracking item without receipt . Its always best hand off in person and get your tracking receipt. Reason i say this , i gave my package to an on duty mail courier whom was dropping mail off at a CVS and my package never made it to the processing center nor did it receive a scan. So therefore Mercari kept alerting me to drop package off. I will never ever do that again. Luckily package was located and then shipped. I understand not everyone is able to run a package down post office daily but if you do a scheduled pickup be sure your mail courier scans your package upon retrieving.

I agree because I’ll always take it to the post office and hand to them or have it immediately picked up by a DoorDash driver to avoid package theft and getting bad reviews being forced to cancel and cancellations rates it’ll show ur cancellation rate will be shown on your public profile if the buyer understands then ur mostly good 👍🏾 so yea unless ur in a hurry the next day go head but be cautious 👍🏾

I make an updated video, but it could be the dimensions of the box. When the box is long or big they will go by "DIM weight" instead of actual weight. For larger items add the measurements of the box to your listings.

So if you choose to pay for shipping and Mercarii charges you $7.99 out of your proceeds to ship it and then you mail it out USPS and it only costs $4.80, does Mercari reimburse you the difference? Otherwise, why not always send items Fexex for the full $7.99 that was charged to you? This would be more of a reason to choose to get your own mailer if you save half the money for every order. I guess I just don't see the benefit of giving up $3+ each order.

Sellers won't answer my questions about products that I really want to buy. The listings are not accurate or incomplete. I think it's just a bunch of scams. I'm not even going to bother looking anymore on anything that's for sale on mercari. Some of the listings are obvious scams and the company just leaves them up they are not protecting the buyers or the good sellers.

You can drop of Smartpost at a drop off location (Ex: Walgreens). It states in the directions that you can do this.

Their shipping is bogus!! I keep bagging up clothes from my son and daughter. My sun is on the spectrum do quirky about clothes and he goes thru so many clothes that he don't even wear once. I use to take to the donate bin but addicts are breaking into them taking and selling. So I want to sell them.. 1. Unless you want to pay the shipping, you should always add the shipping cost into the price of your item if you are not using buyer pays shipping. Many are turned off when seeing the shipping cost separate. Many buyers already know the shipping cost is likely in the item price. 2. Just to be on the safe side, always put dimensions. Ive heard of people who didn't and got burned and ended up owing money. The rate that calculates is based on both those factors. 3. Always, get a scan receipt of the item you are shipping. Should the pkg get lost, there would be no proof that you actually shipped the item. I keep the scan receipt w/my proof of sale for tax purposes. Great informative video. You will help many be successful.

I know that psychologically, buyers like to see Free Shipping. Just wanted to add because I see it says drop off locations is for Fedex Home and not Fedex Smart Post. I always drop off my FedEx Smart Post at Walgreens which is a drop off location. They scan the top portion of the label and not the bottom location and send a text message for receipt after scanning.

I have to use USPS scheduled pickup due to a disability. It's much more convenient for me since I can't make daily post office runs. The problem I'm running into, is many of my packages are over 1lb. So it's charging more in shipping. I have been avoiding using FedEx labels for this reason. Will USPS pickup my FedEx labeled packages? I wish I could use pirate ship! I have a question I’m so confused about. I recently started selling on there and bought a scale, it’ll tell me it’s a few oz, (ex: 6.7oz) Mercari doesn’t allow me to put a decimal, and when I round it to 7 Mercari says it’s up to 0.50oz which is 8 ounces so I’m confused on why it’s not putting the exact weight I put on there, I’ve had trouble at USPS saying they’ll validate it for me that once but that next time I need to put the exact weight. Anything that’s under a pound like 12oz, Mercari will say up to 1lb and put it as that on the label when it’s not 1lb but 12oz

@@SandraTheMomBoss I’ve been doing that but usps weights it there too and they end up telling me I put the wrong weight on the label when I didn’t, since Mercari does it like that. I guess I’ll just have to talk to them and see what I can do. Thank you so much for replying 😊
