This is brilliant. I love the extra security tips I need to get shopping!

Great video!! I pack similarly but keeping the weight under 7kg is not always easy. During my travel in South East Asia they always weight my carry on, sometimes they even ask to weight my daypack.
@Bemytravelmuse7 жыл бұрын
wow really, I don't think mine is over the weight limit anyways, actually, but I could be wrong.

Yes they are always strict but found not much difference in price for checkin unless I want to spend 4 days getting anywhere lol ... I squashed a lot in last time but only wheel 40 litre 1.7 kg when empty backpack and will aim for 7 to 8 kg max as still have to lift it on and off transport etc snd just too much in the roasting heat owise ... clothes do become boring though lol and dont want to look unfeminine and wear just hiking type stuff ...

Great video. I'm going to get one of those packing cubes! When my husband and I went to Iceland on a discount airline which charged extra for any baggsge, we kept it down by buying all our (minimal) toiletries there. When he wasn't warm enough in the jacket he brought, he bought a warm vest for less than $10 in a thrift shop in Isafjordur. :-)

Thrift shopping for the win! That's such a great idea in an expensive country like Iceland

I usually buy certain things when I get where I'm going. That leaves more room in my bag. And so far I have never packed any make up or hair care products (bald is beautiful)!

Now the bag full would not pass the rigorous weight and size regulations without either paying more or not even being allowed carry on weight of more than 7kg how can i pack summer winter bag please?
@spiegel32696 жыл бұрын
So airports have this rectangular, metal-tubing, carry-on measuring device that your carry-on baggage is supposed to fit in (drop it in from above)and if it doesn't you're supposed to check it. Since that backpack wouldn't fit in the carry-on measuring device, how do they let you bring it on? Can you just bring any size of backpack aboard?

Great video on your packing....I love packing cubes too! What is the total weight of your backpack when it's filled up?
@Bemytravelmuse7 жыл бұрын
I don't know. I never weigh it and after five years of traveling I've only had the airline ask to weigh it like three times. If it's over then in that case they just might make you check it but usually it's OK!

Thanks for this video! I love the packing cube, where can I find a similar one? Thank you!!
@Bemytravelmuse7 жыл бұрын
Yay! You can get the exact same one here: amzn.to/2AG8AiQ (affiliate link). Read the blog post if you want to find out more: www.bemytravelmuse.com/carry-on-only/ Have fun packing!

I see that the packing cube in your video has two sides but the one in the link is one side zip only. Is this a mixup? Which type do you think would be better used? Thank you!

What brand/model of backpack do you use? Thanks!
@Bemytravelmuse6 жыл бұрын
That one is from REI. They don't make it anymore sadly, but I'd recommend trying on in person anyways.
@DottyBeeLy6 жыл бұрын
The REI ruckpack 40 appears very similar to this bag, but trying it on (with weights) is the foolproof way to know if you find it comfortable for your needs.

Hey Kristin! What kind of wallet do you use here? And what messenger bag is this?
@Bemytravelmuse5 жыл бұрын
Wallet's from Pacsafe, and the messenger bag was a random purchase from yearssss ago. I have another one also from Pacsafe that I love though, you can check out my gear here: www.bemytravelmuse.com/best-theft-proof-bags-traveling/

Can you fly with a regular backpack or does it have to be a carryon backpack? May be a stupid question but I’m a first time flyer 😳
@Bemytravelmuse6 жыл бұрын
Any type of luggage as long as it's within the weight & dimensions allowed (typically 7kg & 22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm). Not stupid at all, enjoy your first flight! So excited for you :)
@Goldichan926 жыл бұрын
I'm really curious about the weight, airlines mostly allow 7 or 8 kg carry on and some even just 5 kg, so how much does your bag weight with all that stuff? Putting only my laptop, my camera (+both chargers) and the 1 liter bag sums up to almost 5 kg O.O
@Bemytravelmuse6 жыл бұрын
TBH I never really measured mine but I don't think mine is over the weight limit.
@thenine832 жыл бұрын
I'd pay the checked baggage price just to not have to pull all of that stuff out going through security.
@Bemytravelmuse2 жыл бұрын
You know most of those flights were international for me so I didn't even have to pay that much for checked baggage if I'd had a bag to check. For me it was about always being able to carry my luggage without it being any problem anywhere I went. I saved so much time not waiting for bags, actually saved a lot of money in terms of taxis since I could walk easily with what I had. Overall it was just so much easier. Now I have way more electronics and I always have to check a bag and I miss these simple days!
