Just a tip: Bed, Bath, and Beyond has a program where you can pick what you want at the Bed, Bath, and Beyond near your home and then they will stock it in the store near your college for free and you can just pick it up when you arrive in the college town you're moving to. I'm sure that other stores have something similar this time of year, just ask around. That will free up a LOT of space in your car, especially if you're buying a whole lot of stuff at a store instead of bringing it with you from home.

I personally like plastic containers/bins over cardboard boxes because usually you throw cardboard boxes away, but will need them once you move out. And like you said, you can use your plastic containers for storage in your dorm, or if you don't have the space for them, have your parents or whoever is helping you move to take it back with them. Thanks for this video and great tips. I was also wondering if you could make a video about how you take notes for college classes?
@laurensboutique7 жыл бұрын

Plastic storage is definitely nice but I was actually thinking using some cardboard boxes because they can collapse down for storing them and then re-tape them for when you’re on your way back

I know not to pack things that I use on the daily, but things like my bedding, and decor, and things like that? I've seen things from 2-3 weeks before to the day of, so I was wondering what you would recommend. Great video btw, really helpful!

Great video! Just a tip, though - the fading jump cuts are /really/ distracting because it sounds like you're talking over yourself and it distracts me enough that I miss the last and first part of whatever you're saying. A nice, clean jump cut would probably work a lot better, in my opinion. :) My move-in day is this Sunday, ahhh!! Thanks so much for the tips - I totally hadn't thought about labeling my containers, so I'm going to go do that now! :)

can you take storage/plastic bins on the plane??
@nessagirl19116 жыл бұрын
I think you could take them on a plane in theory, but the airline will probably charge you extra as these bins might have to be checked in separately from regular suitcases. Like as bulky items or whatever they are called (that place where you check in really big or oddly shaped items). Also I'm not sure if the average storage bin will hold up to being handled roughly, as luggage usually is (unless you wrap it in lots of bubble wrap and label it as fragile). So probably not the best idea.
@ddanielle5767 жыл бұрын
i use a duffle bag instead of suitcases because they take too much space. duffle bags collapse and can fold away

@wigglejiggle11925 жыл бұрын
Jessica Ham I packed one and a half priuses full of boxes, about 8 in total

Wiggle Jiggle ok good. So you think 2 medium suitcases for clothes/towels, 3 storage bins and a one 3 drawer organizer, plus 2 backpacks is not too much?

@AmeliaColbert6 жыл бұрын
Taylor Ekstrom I would definitely say that you should buy almost every thing in England even clothes that you need but don’t have ( it is very cold and rainy) I would recommend you only bring clothes and anything you really want from home so maybe a few small decor pieces etc, as for big things such as bedding pillows etc definitely buy them in England or buy them online and have them delivered to England

@WelcomeToTheBurrow20226 жыл бұрын
First year is getting generals out of the way, so you don’t need to worry to much about deciding right now. Also, most college student change their major, so if you pick something and end up not liking it, don’t worry! Last thing, make sure to check out clubs and classes outside of what you may think you want to do, that way you are exposed to other things that you may end up liking more! Good luck with your last year! Senior year is super fun!!
