I did one of his arms workouts to see how it went…brutal. My headphones fell out about 3/4 through the workout and I couldn’t get my hands to my ears to put them back in bc my arms, especially my biceps were so tight.

Muscle mind connection is so important. I was throwing up weight for about a year before I even knew about this. I recently started doing db pullovers for lats the way you demonstrated in another video, and I think it's the first time I ever felt it in my lats and not just triceps and chest. You're the man dawg!
@Kevin-pu6bt
@Kevin-pu6bt 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely! His method for pullovers (as well as lat pulldowns) has been a game changer. Formerly, I was gauging my progress based on how much weight I could lift, then I recognized (after Ryan's videos)that my body was recruiting all sorts of other muscles in order to lift that higher number on the dumbbells (especially benching or curling). Never thought about that, previously

Ryan is the very best you tuber at explaining the importance of mind to muscle connection. He is the best because he gives doable tweaks that I can work in to my routine the very day I see his video. Also, I really like that Ryan puts partials into perspective. No one else communicates as well as he does when it comes to putting partials into the mix while still honoring the value of full ROM.

What Ryan understands better than anyone is the "difference between weight and work". He understands how biomechanics and physics will ultimately determine the work exacted on any given muscle.

Something I found great for traps is treating it like a row. Acting like your trying to 'row' the weight when shruging, rather than jerking your arms up, gets me connected far more with my traps.

Honestly this is the best advice for people starting to work out that they should look for! Telling someone to just get in the gym and just start somewhere is good but bad at the same time. So many people I see in the gym working out improper or not knowing how to engage the muscle to get results. Those are the same people who give up or work out chest or arms and don’t feel anything lifting heavy weights yet never really engage the muscles properly!

I live in Central Florida and about 3 years ago some kids moved and left over 250 lbs of steel plates and a 6 foot chrome bar by the road with the garbage ,I also bought 5 sets of steel dumbbells up to 40lbs for a hundred bucks on Craigslist. The biggest cost was my bench and trap bar. And I stopped paying 400 a year for the gym and workout on my concrete patio year around. I don't know how you guys could tolerate not being able to workout.

I think if i had answered an S+M personal ad it would not have hurt this much, but here I am. Just a side note, he does say that if your older and you fart bad things will happen, its true. Say no more. One day I might regain the use of my arms and not have the kids laugh at me as I crawl out the front door of the gym. I hope he gets a leg cramp the next time he gets sexy time...... a really really bad leg cramp. Great workout, can't wait for week 2! Buy it! (He needs the money)
