What is the PVC tube on the back for? It sounded like you referred to it as a 'grouper'

'Groover' gets its name for the two grooves an ammo can makes on your cheeks when going number 2. Most all river systems require you to carry out waste. Waste container must be a fully sealed unbreakable container. That is why ammo cans are the #1 choice. For self support kayak trips the standard is a 4 inch schedule 40 PVC tube with a screw cap as the opening. On the Grand Canyon besides the bomber proof ammo can or other welded aluminum sealed containers the only option for a modified groover for self support is Schedule 40 PVC for its leakproof breakproof durability.

@@r1-ing I just carry an entrenching tool. Just like I did in the Army, plus you can fold the shovel blade 90 degrees and use it for a chair for one cheek or the other.

@@ninjazxd Nice! That works for most rivers. Permited stretches require pack it out containment. I was just turned on to Rest Stop wag bags. For a 1-3 night trip you may only need 1 bag if timing it right. #2 in a smell proof sealed bag then into PVC makes for real easy in the trash disposal back home.
