Another excellent tutorial - thank you! A lovely scene and you explain your reasoning behind what you're doing which is so helpful. And...NO music! Thank heaven😁

I was literally having a panic attack watching you use a sharpie 😂 but I think I found out what my problem/mistake is with watercolor and that’s you don’t really want to try and control watercolor. So I think you are pushing me in a way to step out of my comfort zone. ❤

Such a gorgeous English winter scene. Just the kind of view we could expect to find in the Cotswolds. No mountains there, but several steep and sudden hills. Beautiful. I must invest in fine liners. Love it Lois. TTFN.

An absolutely stunning painting, Lois! I especially love the use of complimentary colors, as well. The mix of blues with the warmth of sienna's makes for such a pleasing watercolor painting and composition. Are you using a *Gray* Pitt Pen for your line work? Your fine trees and hatching appear to be lighter in color, which helps create some depth in your painting. Thank you for all of your tutorials---I've learned so much from watching you paint, Lois!

@@LoisDavidsonArt I love your painting so much that I gave it a try - and I am quite happy with it. This is the first time on my short watercolor jurney (started in 1919 december :-) ) when I am satisfied with the result more or less :-) I am so happy, thank you! Have beautiful Holidays and a lovely new year! ♥ Judit (Hungary)

Lois instead of the sharpie why didn't you use a Faber in a wider size. The sharpie ink is a very different makeup then the Faber pen. Just curious. Realizing people can use any coloring methods that is available to them it is a nice way to lone stuff. Maybe possibly using India ink and a pen . I have two Faber pens. One black and one dark charcoal not quite black. Thank you for all you show us. I watch as many as I can and have learned a lot from you in my nine weeks painting.

I use whatever is to hand at the time, to me materials don't have to be specific brands apart from paper, the creative ideas are the thing to focus on. All you need is an appropriate tool to convey your ideas, and any waterproof fine liner of marker will do

Lovely demo, Lois. Good advice. Have you used watercolor inks? Such as Dr. Marten'. Ann Blockley does it.

Thanks so much Mike, I’ve got some Dr PH Martin’s inks, they are amazing! I hope to get into some mixed media demos next year!
