Thank you a gazillion times over for this video, Lisa. I just love your style and presentation. At last I've managed to create something in Procreate that looks like watercolour. 😁 Your Aqua Real brushes are fantastic and what a difference a splotch can make. I've really enjoyed using my long-ago-purchased Aqua Real brushes on this project and can't wait to try your techniques out over the weekend. Thanks again 🥰🦘

Hello, nice work ☺️ Are the brushes used made by you or did you download them? I tried to apply the lesson with the basic brushes along with some brushes of my own making! It wasn't bad, but it wasn't excellent😌. Do you think I should buy brushes from outside the application? Thank you.
@Lisaglanz8 ай бұрын
Hi Fatema, the brushes I used in this tutorial are brushes I created 😊 It's difficult to answer your second part of your question as it depends on what you want to achieve with your artwork. If it's just for fun and budget is an issue then you don't need external brushes, you can still achieve a lot with the default brushes that come with Procreate. If however you want to create professional artwork to sell, I would recommend looking at investing in quality brushes. This set for example also includes high-resolution canvases that enhance the watercolour brushes which adds to the very realistic look. I'll include the link to my brushes in case you were thinking of getting external brushes: www.lisaglanz.com/shop/aquareal-realistic-watercolour-brushes-for-procreate/ Hope that helps!

@@Lisaglanz Thank you very much. I will take your valuable words into consideration. I am currently in the process of experimenting and learning. When I am able to use the program, it will be clear what I want (maybe my comment contains errors. I used the translator to write)☺️

@@fatema.s.4577 That's the perfect approach! Once you have a better idea of what kind of art you'd like to create, that will give you better direction in terms of which brushes to get. Best of luck with your exploration!

Hi Lisa, this is so pretty, I have purchased the Aqua real set and I am following along with this tutorial, sometimes I am having trouble with making the stamp leave colour on my art, it won't show on the artwork, but if I go into the layers I can see it is working -I'm not sure what I am doing wrong? (hope that makes sense?)
@Lisaglanz Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your purchase, it's much appreciated! It could be that your stamp is below the painting layer. Are you able to send me a screenshot of your artwork (including the layers) to help@lisaglanz.com so I can assist you better 😊

Hello Lisa, I am following your tutorial for this peony. I have a problem and would appreciate your guidance. I am trying to fill in colors without lifting the pencil but find that when I come to a curve or a bend, my curve pops into a straight line and does not follow the lines of the drawing. Is there any setting that I need to look into to avoid this? Appreciate your help. Thank you
@Lisaglanz6 ай бұрын
It sounds like you are activating Quickshape, this is a feature where Procreate assumes you're trying to draw a particular shape and is activated if you pause for a period of time with your pencil still connected to the screen. You can set the delay of when this is activated to be longer - mine is set to 1 sec. To do that, go the Actions > Prefs > Gesture Control > Quickshape > then set the delay to be longer. Hope that helps!

Hi Lisa. How do I hide the paper background if I want the flower to be a motif for pattern, but I want a plain background and I want to keep that paper texture on the flower itself. Is there a way to achieve that?

Can someone tell me why my colors are diffrent than i chose when i create new layer with clipping mask ? They are greyish and pale..😢
@Lisaglanz9 ай бұрын
The reason that's happening is the clipping mask layer takes on the property of the layer it's clipped to. Because watercolour brushes are fairly translucent, some are very translucent, the clipping mask only "clips" to the paint that's on the underneath layer that's translucent which often makes the clipping mask layer look very washed out. You can try and intensify the results by duplicating your clipping mask - I often do this, and/or using the hue and saturation to increase the saturation of your clipping mask colour. So if you have a solid colour on a layer, then clip to that, the clipping mask will be solid like the layer it clipped to. If you have a layer with translucent paint, the clipping mask will clip to the translucent paint - i.e. the original layer determines the result of your clipping mask. Hope that helps to explain it 😊
@alicjajefremienko83739 ай бұрын
@@Lisaglanz thank you ! So your colors are well covering ? They are not that much translusent ?
@Lisaglanz9 ай бұрын
@@alicjajefremienko8373 I would say the watercolour brush I'm using has about 50 to 60% coverage. What's giving it the impression that it's very translucent is I've used a really light pink colour. So doing that gives the impression that the paint is more translucent when in fact it still has a fair amount of coverage which will take on the clipping mask better.
