Amazing! As someone who is just discovering digital art and Procreate who is really wanting to learn children's illustrating for books this is exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much for the tutorial and making your brushes available. As a life long drawer who has always focused and been somewhat dependent on realism and detail I struggle so much just letting go and creating loose art but it is something I really want to learn because it is so much more relaxing I think. I might end up with all of your brush sets by the time i am finished :)

Yay!! So happy you found this helpful! I was in the exact same place not so long ago, I felt a little hindered regarding producing work commercially because my style was quite realistic, I really struggled to "let go" and produce art more freely. With time and exercises producing "scruffy" at, it got better. Keep going, you'll definitely get there the more you try the technique. Your goal to illustrate children's books is super exciting! I wish you all the best with that! And many more hours of exploring this technique 😊

@@Lisaglanz Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I picked up your Scene Creator too for Illustrator. I am also a photography nerd so I am very familiar with Photoshop and game Illustrator a go over the weekend to see what I thought of it and unfortunately I feel more at home in Photoshop for some reason and just don't need to pay the sub cost. I did however check out Affinity too and LOVE Affinity Photo 2 so I am using your Scene Creator in that and it works like a charm. :) Thank you again!

Hallo Lisa, gerade habe ich den kleinen Kerl gemalt, ich glaube, er ist recht schön geworden. Auch die Messy Box gefällt mir sehr gut. Da ich zum Perfektionismus neige, eignet sich dieser Malstil ganz besonders, um lockerer zu werden. Diesen kleinen Kerl will ich jetzt auch noch im Watercolor-Stil mit deinem Aqua Real malen und dann noch in Cut Art mit deinem Set. For some reason, I have a hard time doing messy lines. I always end up with clean, boring lines. It’s like I can’t let go of my “safe net”. I wonder what my shrink thinks of this 😅

Haha!! 😂 I use to be the same! Until I forced myself to draw with a ballpoint pen on paper - no pencil or eraser allowed! It was stressful at first but then I eventually loosened up which really helped me be less of a perfectionist in my work 😊

That's a great suggestion for a tutorial! I'll definitely add it to my list 😊 Just quickly off the cuff, I always think about drawing short "dumpy" characters when I want them to be extra cute. I also try and bring in humour in their expression if it suites the piece. Humour often helps bring the character's cuteness to life 😊
