Hey Martin, I’m watching this as I’m sanding the exact same helmet for a paint job. I’ll be using spray max primer, but you’ve linked an adhesion promoter in the description. Is this something you spray over the primer before the paint? Many thanks!

I don't use Spray Max on lexan helmets cause in my opinion it's too risky.

light spray it 2-3 times, light spray again with clear coat 2-3 times.. let it dry after 24 hours and peel. Peel slowly. if you notice you are peeling and the paint is peeling with the tape then cut with exacto knife/razor.

Wich 3m filters do you use? Different ones for different kind of paint? Tks I have a 3m 6200 respirator with 6057 gas filters with no particules filters. Also.. Wich kind of primer in a can to paint a carbon fiber helmet where I want to see the carbon in some places? (plàstic primer of montana pro colors?)

Aloha Martin, love your videos - quick question, I noticed you used polystyrene friendly Montana primer on one helmet, then other helmets you use plastic primer. I’m painting a bike helmet and masking all polystyrene areas - so my question is, which primer is better? Mahalo from Hawaii!
@ETOE3 жыл бұрын
The one which fits the chemical igredients of your helmet shell. Best is, ask the producer of the helmet which chemicals are used and which fit your primer.

I had bought a different helmet on Amazon at the beginning of this summer for my big headed daughter to wear while bicycling and scootering. kzbin.infoUgkx0ipcYkXV-2YCp_cBN3HLfzR_OoD0HQYx Well it was WAY too big and not adjustable at all. Previously we had really expensive but adjustable helmets from the local bike store and I didn't really want to pay $50 again for another helmet. I searched and was fairly sure from the reviews that this helmet was what I was looking for- and it was! The pads inside are comfortable, the rim in front provides a bit of shade, but most of all for me there is the dial adjuster in the back which allows for a really secure fit on my daughters head. It seems like it will fit for a few years too which makes me even happier! She loves the pattern and I might end up buying another one for her twin sister (who has a much smaller head!)I definitely recommend this helmet. My daughter is 5 but has a big head. Her twin sister could fit in this one as well but it's a bit big.

i disagree with u my friend. YES, sanding old paint job for job can help. But it wont look any better than painting over new, UNLESS u are doing on a helmet u have been using already. then u need to give a good cleaning before painting. PAINTING over its pain wont make it look any worse, unless u use shit cheap pain. I have done it couple of times, my pain has not chipped and it has stayed shiny through the yrs.
