Άλλο ένα βίντεο με πολύ λεπτομέρεια στην τεχνική και στον τρόπο απόδοσής της. Οι κατευθύνσεις απλές κατανοητές και αν τηρηθούν με ευλάβεια και επαγγελματισμό το αποτέλεσμα είναι πολύ όμορφο και ρεαλιστικό. Ευχαριστώ από την πλευρά μου που ζούμε την εμπειρία αυτή της διδασκαλίας όσοι δεν έχουμε την πολυτέλεια να σας έχουμε κοντά μας. Συνεχίστε το πολύ όμορφο έργο που κάνετε.

Great videos. Do you have any thoughts or opinions about painting with acrylic paint? The reason I ask is because I'm currently thinking that it's the most similar behaving paint to egg tempera.

It can be quite different! I painted in acrylic for years alongside egg tempera. I suggest learning and going with egg tempera.

@@zgmartinchek4030 Interesting... I'm guessing you like egg tempera much more. Can you think of any reasons why you like egg tempera more than acrylic? ... I'm thinking about transitioning back to egg tempera after reading your comment. Thank you.

@@junktube4000 Certainly! It is the purity and vivacity of colour which tempera provides. In addition, the toxicity is less if you are using earth pigments. There is an obvious depth in the colour which acrylics do not have as much as they "sit" on the surface in comparison to tempera which becomes part of the gesso, lending light to better be represented from "inside." This, I think, makes it more appropriate for painting the holy icons.

@@zgmartinchek4030 Thank you. Very well said and interesting points. I also just rewatched the video you made called "Paint with egg tempera or acrylics" which also helped to explain the differences. I haven't ever tried egg tempera on a rabbit skin glue gesso support, but I'm really craving to do so...
