I live in a city, with parks and nearly wild green belts. When people clean their flower beds in the spring, they sometimes toss the scraps and clumps into the nearby woods, rather than pack them for disposal by the city. A little naughty, but the squirrels enjoy eating the broken/damaged bulbs. Sometimes , the bulbs survive, and take hold, resulting in random blooming tulips, lilies, and daffodils.

We have loads of them where we live (North Georgia, US). They spread each year and pop up in surprising places! We call them “March flowers” locally since they bloom in early March even though we know they’re actually daffodils. They are the delightful first signs of spring. So pretty.

Fun. Thank you. Good luck to your dad. It's not an easy decision to make. Once they settle in, they do start to actually enjoy making friends and doing daily activities. Especially if they are with other old friends from their town. Here, in Iowa, the retirement homes are full of people each other grew up with and have known all their lives. So they're surrounded by old friends. Good luck

They come up in abundance in the US every spring, and yes there are clumps of them in strange places. Most of the time they were blub planted many years ago by "homesteader's" who, for what ever reason, abandoned their homes. The homes with time and neglect rotted and fell down leaving only some beautiful flowers to mark the passing of time each spring.....We also have Iris's and Day Lilly's that bloom unattended along country roads later in the summer. Love your Daffodil painting, thank you for sharing your wonderful gift with us!🙂
