Hi Paul! As always your painting is stunning. But I have a little problem with your videos... I can't watch them at night because your voice is so relaxing that I always fall asleep 😅. I never miss one of your tutorials!

I have tried this exact technique with 5 different shades of brown and NONE of them lift as cleanly as you show in the video. What am I doing wrong. I use Daniel Smith tubes almost exclusively.

I really enjoyed this one. So atmospheric with such a limited palette. That is real skill! Thank you so much.

This is an official silly question. Cold months are here and that makes Plein Airre a challenge. (So is spelling it correctly). Can you still paint with watercolor in freezing temps if you add to or even replace your water with alcohol. (Rubbing Alcohol not Glenn Livet.)
@ArtbyPaulClarkКүн бұрын
Lol! - great comment - never tried it but I'm sure it will work .... I'd rather stay warm inside with the Glennlivet!

Interestingly I was following your watercolour tutorial for the little wooden boat and I just wasn't feeling it so I picked up a set of guache I was gifted and tried guache for the first time. I loved it. The painting turned out really well so I think maybe that's where i might find my style. I will continue to try watercolour but if I'm not happy with it I can go over it with guache and I'm not wasting expensive paper. (Archers really isn't cheap!) Love your work.

Really fabulous demo, great job! And I did appreciate your comments about how we can learn from studying and copying great painters and paintings - hopefully I'll learn from copying you here. Bonus - you really made me laugh, I was fooled at the beginiing, thinking wow lucky Paul getting to do this in Venice !

Thanks for all your vids Paul .As a beginner it would be very helpful to see exactly the procedure with your brush ,palette and paint when you mix. How are you organising these colours on the palette?When are you cleaning your brush? How wet is the brush? How would you say add 70% blue to 30% yellow? Thanks again
