What kind of glassdo you use and what was the paint(micas suspended in something)?
@HeathersTreasures4 жыл бұрын
I buy my glass cabochons from Amazon. I explain and show in the video the nail polish suspending base. I believe I put a link in the description in a previous video. www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/ingredients/bases/body-care/suspending-nail-polish-base/V000520.html The mica powders I use come from colour cottage, but you can use any mica powder you like. Here is the link also to the video I did a few days ago making the nail polish: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3S6d4yqfpqjopo Thank you so much for watching!

Thank you Brenda for all your support! The only thing I use to make my nail polish and to keep it workable is the Brambleberry suspending nail polish base. The only place I've found it is online through their site. If you google search brambleberry nail polish base it should pop up. I forgot to tell you. I get my glass blanks from Amazon. I search for the sizes I want in millimeters and buy the cheapest :)

Hello! Ive been trying to master this technique for my creatures I make, can I ask do you use acrylic for the pupil? if so how do you get it to not move around when you start blending the iris colours, I've even let them dry over a week and they still slide when im blending :(

You make this look so easy! I have been trying to paint 18mm cat eyes the same way you show in the video and I cannot get it to look right. I've finally figured out that I can shape the pupil with a thin brush and acetone instead of the safety pin I was using. Now I got mica powder and the nail polish base but I can't seem to get the opaqueness that I want. The polish looks super pigmented but once I put it on the eye it is super see through 😭

I accidentally found this page, and how timely it was. I have been painting dragon eyes for awhile now and find it a tedious process and they don't look especially good when I'm done. Is all the "paint" that you use nail polish? Do you use a certain type, or is inexpensive nail polish just as effective? I can't wait to try your technique. Are you using nail polish remover to clean your brushes? All this time I have been using acrylic paints, the metallic paints, and the colors are amazing, but you're right drying and scraping and repainting, over and over again to try to get the right look and ending with a mucky back when I'm finished.
