Excellent tutorial. I have tried different birch tree tutorials. This is by far the best. I even used this to paint birch trees on a rock as a gift for my physical therapist. She loved it. I am a beginner.

I like the 10 min. videos where you use the split screen showing your pallet and how you are dipping into it to get the various shades that you come up with. I would implore you to do this as it only enhances your ability to teach, which by the way you are very good at .. However adding the split screen would up your game to a stellar level .. :)

Duuuude...I simply loved this video. It was so so informative. I liked the way you layered your trees w so many different layers,shades. I got more from this little ditty on the painting of the birch itself...instead of the whole picture(which was quite informative as well) It seems like most of the tutorials I viewed started the tree out in white & then scraped black on w a credit card. Anyways. You kept dropping bombs of info that just exploded in my mind w understanding the why's, how's & what for's. Thanks

I was asked to teach painting to seniors. These videos help me a lot but wondering if the initial sharpie sketches can be downloaded somehow so I can prepare the canvases for them in advance and they can just start at the painting phase?

Unfortunately this lesson was completed before I started creating digital sketches. Most of my new lessons have the line art versions up over on my Patreon www.patreon.com/onehourpaintings
@TigerLilyCo7 жыл бұрын
Awesome, just found you! Am I right to assume that the reason the paint is so see-through is because you add water or glaze? Or is it that the lines on the canvas are so dark, and are they done with a thin brush and black paint or some type of marker?
@RyanORourkeArtist7 жыл бұрын
It's a combination of what you mentioned. I do use a good amount of water in my mixes which does thin the paint. However, the lines were done with a fine tipped sharpie marker. They are fantastic markers because they don't bleed/blend with the paint and you can generally see the markings through the initial painting layers which allows you to be a little bit more loose with the backgrounds. However, they can show through the back of regular canvas so I use them exclusively on these canvas boards. Hope that helps!
@ashtonshawnoo64297 жыл бұрын
You could use watercolor pencils which blend right in and don't mess with the pigment of your paint. Also if you mix water with acrylic paint it will cause to craze.

You may have grabbed the wrong kind of fiber type brushes to work with acrylic paint. There different fiber types for different types of paint like acrylic, watercolors, oils etc. Use a good brush cleaner and conditioner meant for your type of brushes liqutex make some great one.
