I do enjoy your tutorials. I am in art class at my local community college. My instructor has us pick a picture and paint it. The instructor doesn't really teach much of anything. If you are talking about the African tree. I only mean the motion of the brush "Upside-down U motion" that creates the umbrella shape.

I kinda get the exercise. I will sometimes turn the canvas or flip it - This way its easier on my hand and motion that feels more natural to me 💪

Interesting. On wet on wet I don't make Ross style pines, but like this. I add black for a darker shadow, yellow green pthalo, midtones are sap green,bit of Prussian blue.

Couldn't think of a 4th? What about Aspen? Weeping Willows? Apple trees with plump, red apples? Oaks. Fern trees and palms. Redwoods. Trees covered in Spanish Moss. Trees covered in Kudzu? Mimosa trees! Cherry trees! These trees all have a distinctive look to them.

I always recommend just take a spare canvas and paint only trees. 1 thru 10 will suck, 11 through 20 look alright and by tree 30 thru 50 you will be like. Holy crap... that kinda looks like a tree.
