makoccino when I try to do the wet on wet technique it doesn't work and I always soak the paper with water by brushing it on and I dab the colours on lightest first. No matter how much water I add, it never spreads it just sits there and does nothing 😩

Whenever I draw or paint, I'm always afraid of failing or messing things up and that discourages me. But when I watch your videos, it reminds me that accidents can be good too! You can learn from your mistakes and make the art piece even better! Thank you Mako for everything that you do ❤️

I love how you said not to stress about showing others your art or needing to have their approval! I feel like that is something that many artists (including myself) struggle with, and it often prevents artists from being who they are and expressing their creativity. Everyone is free to do whatever they want, and that's okay! Do what makes you happy :)

Yes! I used to show my parents what I did, but they never showed me the excitement that I wanted to see! That's why I stopped doing that and just did my thing! And if you find friends that supports you and get excite with you too, then you can of course share your artwork with them and they might even help you, if you want!

I'm just beginning my journey into watercolor painting and like others have said here in the comments, I'm afraid of making mistakes and messing up my painting and that holds me back from doing it more often. Even drawing/doodling, I hold back because I feel that I'm wasting paper by not making 'good art' and I have to remind myself that making mistakes is how I learn and the more mistakes I make, the more I learn, the better an artist I'll be. I’m not sure if you are still doing this series but please keep it up. I get intimidated by large paintings but love watercolor and this format is perfect! Awww yes! I do enjoy my proper watercolor sets, but if you are just starting out and are afraid to spend money on more expensive watercolors, then that's okay! Once you notice cheap paint isn't enough anymore, you can upgrade!
