Lovely tutorial, thank you for it.. I love this abstract style of it 😍 my father in law loves kingfishers, and I wanted to attempt to paint it for him, so I definitely will try this tutorial. Just need to get masking fluid 😊

Beautiful! Would have been helpful to put the reference photo on the right instead of color swatches so that we could see your reasoning for what you were painting. Thanks!

I have artists gouache colourtitanium white, can I use it for the white places and remove it afterwords. Will it spoil my paint brush?
@skorkart3 жыл бұрын
Hi, gouache paint is like watercolour but it's opaque not transparent, so it will layer over the top of the watercolour paint and cover what's underneath. it won't ruin your brushes! You could do the painting without the masking fluid and just paint the white parts on afterwards with the gouache! It will have a different look to it but that's all part of learning how to use different mediums. Hope this helped! 👍

@@skorkart thank you, I thought that I will be able to remove it afterwords. And what is the material you used for the white spots and removed it at the end

No problem! I have used masking fluid which is a liquid latex that dries like rubber. It's acts as a barrier stopping the paint going onto the paper where you have put it. If you let it dry in a brush you wil never get it out that's why it ruins them!

What did you use to apply the masking fluid please?
@skorkart3 жыл бұрын
Hi, it is a silicone tool, usually used in pottery, you can find them in Amazon! Hope this helps 👍

does it matter if I dont have any masking fluid??
@skorkart3 жыл бұрын
Hi! No you dont have to use masking fluid, instead just be very careful to leave the areas and hilights that you want 'paper white' without water or paint. you can also 'lift' paint in these areas if you feel you have put to much on by taking a lightly damp brush to the area and gently remove paint. Hope this helps!
