Relaxed and beautiful with nicely balanced values. This is rather much the style I hope to develop. Thank you so very much! 👏👏🎨

Lovely, warm desert scene, Lois! Your tree tree turned out great and such a wonderful idea to use my forgotten tube of Perylene Green. I've had it forever and never get around to using it. Inspiring painting, as usual Lois, many thanks for your valuable tutorials. You're a gifted artist and I appreciate watching and learning from your techniques!

Lois, this one helps, of course, as I live in Sedona, Arizona. Plus I am helped by viewing the reference photo.

This is so warm and serene at the same time. When you added that palest, highest mountain in the background, it made my heart say "yes". It gave the painting just the weight that the whole composition needed.

Thanks so much, I was pleased with that part too, one of the reasons I love the hake brush, it does all that work with a single stroke!
Thanks so much Franco, I'm a bit in love with painting deserts now, more to come I'm sure ;-)

Thanks Lois - this one’s a bit closer to home. It’s hard to feel totally committed to realising your snow scenes when it’s 40°C outside!

I have lived in this type of desert, a lovely painting. Could l ask the reason for you painting the distant hill last?
@LoisDavidsonArt3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! There's no reason, I paint fairly spontaneously, it evolves as I paint and that seemed to be the best way to layer up at the time!

Hello and thank you. Your training is unique to me. Thanks a lot. Can you explain what your favorite green color is? I can not find it. With respect
@LoisDavidsonArt2 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, my favourite green is Winsor and Newton Perylene Green, but you can mix nice greens with ultramarine blue and cadmium yellow
