Yes, you do make it look easy! I love how it develops just adding light and dark. How mine turns out remains to be seen!

Such an incredible video. “Sharp edges look like they are coming forward. Soft edges are receding back.”

Another amazing video! I love that you stayed with the same rose, even tho it was a little past it’s prime.

Elizabeth, this has been a great demonstration. Thank you. I would love to see you painting a white rose. Congratulations on your channel and I wish you only the best. You made the painting look easy. Loved the way you manipulate color for the petals and with the background in gray tones the rose is magnificent. Blessings and take care. I have subscribed to your channel.

Thanks, its great. Because i live in a Senior complex, i dont have room to paint. EXTREMELY frustrating. I will probably have to use my pastels and work with those.Enjo

Really a nice sesion. Would you mind sharing the palette you are using? I relly love the mixes but what colours do you use to mix. Sorry I just realised that I can see the colours by folloowing you link :-)

Hello! Thank you so much :) Apologies for my delayed reply! As you already noticed, you will get a more detailed overview of when certain colors were used in the article version of this tutorial - link is in the description. But for reference here - I used the following colors in this painting: Cremnitz white, Alizarin Crimson, cadmium orange, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, cadmium lemon yellow, Cadmium green, pthalo green, ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, burnt umber, dioxazine purple, Veronese green (williamsburg). Some of these colors were just used a small amount while others were used in much larger amounts.

What medium do you use with your paints, ie, linseed oil, linquin?
@ArtStudioLife3 жыл бұрын
I just use a little bit linseed oil if I really need it :)

Ididnt see the Rose from which you were painting Can you tell me where and I will search better Thank you

Hi Pam! I was painting this rose from a real live rose - not from a photo. Unfortunately I didn't add in a photo of my rose to the video. I will be doing this with future video tutorials though - as this does help to understand the process better!

It would have been helpful if the actual rose were shown all the way through the demo at the corner of the picture. Thank you

I am actually painting on linen canvas here that I gessoed myself with acrylic gesso. I have a KZbin tutorial on how to gesso your own canvas/ linen if you are interested! kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5rckJiFhNOKn7M
