What type board is it you use?
@ArtStudioLife6 күн бұрын
I use a variety of different boards. In this video demo I use a richeson hardboard panel. However, I also enjoy using ampersand boards.

Very helpful tips, thanks. Do you suggest immediately placing all colours on the palette or just those you are using at the time, even for a painting that will evenetually use a lot of your colours?
@ArtStudioLife24 күн бұрын
Good question! this depends on a few things. I always have all my colors on my palette - it is like my keyboard for me. However, if you do not paint very often - then this might not work so well. If you do paint frequently, then yes, put out all your colors as you want to get in the habit of working with them all and using them. It broadens your range and abilities when it comes to mixing more complex colors.

I myself do master copies, usually a section of the painting I find most interesting, or trying to capture the terrific sense of light, just with brush marks. I do though like to know the palette of colours used in the painting, it is not always possible so have to make some guesses. Enjoyed your video and the joy you express in sharing your knowledge and skill. Thank you.
@ArtStudioLife29 күн бұрын
Thats great, yes often just taking a section of a painting and doing a copy of that is such a good practice. I like doing this myself. The colors I used in this painting are titanium white, Cadmium red, alizarin crimson, ivory black, burnt umber, pthalo green, cadmium orange, cadmium green, cadmium yellow. Glad you enjoyed the video thank you for sharing!

You shape with soap then re smush in the baby oil. Confusing. Also saflower would make more sense than baby oil since it can be used with paint and. It have to rewash the next day.

Thanks for this, I'm new to making models, tanks, and war stuff, and I was looking to make my own Dunkelgelb paint. This is the closest I've found to the colour so far, as you continue to mix. It'll take more messing around, but i never imagined purple could work.Much appreciated.

WoW, the drawing video,BUT it's three years old 🧓. I do not get it, but I seen your email yesterday . She says>>> Subscribe to my ArtStudioLife KZbin Channel to be notified when my newest (painting and DRAWING) video guides and tutorials come out! As you mentioned drawing, you got my attention but as I looked at the video's (😂) there is not a drawing tutorial until I get to the 3 year mark. Why advertising you do drawing tutorials is scamming people sending people emails to join you here for tutorial's of drawing is outrageous. (Please do not send me your bogus emails anymore, they suck.) God Bless and have a great day ahead.

Hi, this video was useful for me. I do have a question though. What do you think about doing this process with a piece of canvas that has already been painted on? I have a stack of painted canvas sheets that are mostly junk but there’s a few little gems in there that I’d like to mount on board rather than stretch. Any thoughts? Thanks. Jim
@ArtStudioLifeАй бұрын
So glad to hear that! Oh yes, you can definitely apply this process to paintings that have already been painted - you would follow the same guidelines as shown. If your paintings are not standard size, you will just need to get boards cut to the specific size of your painting.

HOW DO YOU DO THE OPPOSITE?? HOW DO YOU MAKE RED MORE VIBRANT?
@ArtStudioLifeАй бұрын
The most vibrant red you will get is to use red paint straight out of a tube. Cadmium reds are some of the most vibrant ones you can get a hold of.

Does wearing gloves tend to cause eczema? How long do you wear them for?
@ArtStudioLifeАй бұрын
I am lucky to not struggle with eczema. That said, I do think latex gloves can cause more skin issues than nitrile - which is the type of glove I use. I usually only wear them for a painting session - which varies from 1 - 3 hrs.
