In this new two-part series, Mig Jiménez will explain the easy and effective painting and weathering techniques used on a 1/35 scale Russian Typhoon Truck. Over the course of the two videos, Mig will show the entire painting process from start to finish. In this first video, Mig begins by demonstrating the application of AMMO Shaders to add contrast and volume, how to apply decals to the kit, how to apply an enamel wash and finally how to use AMMO Dio Drybrush paints to accentuate the details of the model. We hope you enjoy this video and find it useful.
The second part in this tutorial will be available on Wednesday 19th May at 15:00 Spanish time here: • How to paint a Typhoon...
You can find all products used in this video, on our website here: www.migjimenez...

Awesome as usual. I'm always confused on the same thing. I never remember which effect requires a gloss surface and which effect require a flat surface! For example I was sure that I need a gloss surface for washes...instead I was wrong. I always do mistakes like that.

Filters works better over matt surfaces. Washes over glossy and satin. Oils over satin. Streaking over satin too. But this is the perfect scenery but you can apply over posits surface if you cannot provide the right one.

I reviewed one of his books many years ago on a really famous modelling website I gave it 4.5 out of 5 and he freaked out because I didnt give him the full 5 stars. He ended up harassing me for three weeks and even got me banned from the website.

Really! I knew he was very arrogant! It was his way or no way! 1 time he released a model of some vehicle at a convention and a man who worked at an army base pointed out a minor fault out to him. He nearly bit the man's head off. saying it was impossible for him to have made a mistake! He also would not let newsagents sell his magazines, only model shops! He had very little interest in 1/72, only did plane aftermarket! Also, some of his figures were had very dubious proportions and poses! He was honestly a very big fish in a small pond. In his day the 70's & 80's you either bought his stuff or scratch built it! He made his name because people would read magazines like MILITARY MODELLING and the step-by-step projects could take people 6 months to do. With his products and techniques normal people could do it in a weekend! But in the early 90's he started to go downhill, when the USSR collapsed lots of East European companies like Eduard and Aber started doing better and cheaper after market. Then Tamiya started doing plastic 1/16 figures which were easier to modify. Then people like Migueal Jiminiz did stuff like pre-shading which was much more realistic than Verlindens very over the top style, which to be fair to him, until he came along was simply thinning down black enamel paint. Also Verlinden aftermarket set would be sold as for use with a certain kit but would not fit it at all! But he no doubt was a very important person in modelling history, it was just he was an asshole,sold a load of dodgy crap, and failed to keep up with the times in modelling! Also when he started his business, in USA there were 5 or 6 companies that also did resin after market but they all did some work for him as he was famous even though they were independent!
@MrPolicekarim
@MrPolicekarim 3 жыл бұрын
Apparently, the reason why the business collapsed was that by 1996 the wholesale was doing badly so Verlinden moved to the USA. This was at first a success as this cut costs but Verlinden had brought his son Wilf into the business and he was arrogant like his dad. There was some disagreement and the company was divided into 2 camps= Verlinden's and Bob Lettermen's. They officially split the business into 2 and carried on separately
@MrPolicekarim
@MrPolicekarim 3 жыл бұрын
Lettermen sold his business to Squadron/MMD in 2007 and Verlinden closed down in 2015 and threw his moulds into a skip! He did a lot for the hobby but was a control freak, lazy, complacent and a big fish in a small pond!
