love the way the Quin Gold and Cobalt Blue become the lily pads [at least in my mind]...you've expanded my mind on the uses for Cobalt Blue and it's become a favorite go to.....thanks Diane for the inspiration.

My 291 th. A very nice proces of building with layers. Using darker background to show the flower more is a good tip. Spattering I don't know if it is at place in this painting. Properly looking at the reverence in combination with intuition made a winning team. I like the colors. 😊wim

So have I. Monet's water lilies are much more difficult than they look at first glance! I painted them in oil once and realised what a challenge they are and why he painted them for 17 years!

Thank you! You can do it. I often divide paintings like this up into many sessions. I put it on an easel or table and when I pass by I add a few strokes. Or, I sometimes have a bedtime routine of painting for ten minutes on something like this. Quite relaxing!

Some of us are incredibly unlucky with them aren’t we. Although mine are much milder now I have never stopped completely. I started menopause aged 46 after breast cancer treatment and I just learnt to live with it. I hope yours stops soon. Thanks for your comments and your appreciation of my painting! It’s what kept me going all this time!

@@AnnA-bz9md thanks! I like using them when I’m planning a painting - you can play with colours easily. I like them in combination with pen and ink for botanicals. I don’t have the interest in using them for highly detailed work. I think a good set of quality watercolor pencils is great to have in your kit xx

I enjoyed watching you paint this one very much. It is one that I am going to try. I have a suggestion for you regarding your drawings for your viewers. Do you think it would work if you drew the image dark enough for people to see, then erased it down to only what you need yourself? Once you start to paint, the shapes develop anyway. The idea of the heavier lines trapped under the paints just bothers me. I love your channel and when I discovered you, about a month ago, you actually got me to pick up my paintbrushes for the first time in three years. I do click like for every video I see but didn’t realize that comments help too. I really like your wonderfully imaginative paintabirdaday paintings. I’ve since done a few myself but I have nothing like your creativity and imagination. Still, I’ve started and am going to do the owl, How N’Owl, as a birthday card for my sister. It looks as though he is wearing a pretty flowered waistcoat. Well, yours does, but my sister will never see it so won’t be able to compare it with mine! Best wishes and long may you continue! PS, love the glimpses of Arthur and all your other animals.
