This has to be the simplest demonstration of a Peonie. I’ve had a go at another way of painting these and made a total mess of it. Pages of Peonies later I thought they still looked wrong. Your style of this flower just appeals to me much more. Will definitely be trying this tomorrow. Thanks Ellen.

I'm fairly new and I watch and try a lot of different artists. I found you a few months ago and I love the way you teach. You are so calm and you explain enough for me to understand. Plus and this is going to sound weird but I will deliberately watch your videos when I am wound up about something I watch your videos your voice and your speed of talking is so soothing for me. I just watch and I calm down. Then I have to go back and watch in order to practice. I don't like silly or loud or fast or too much technical at one time. Although I am intelligent it doesn't transfer to my ability to paint. But I keep trying. .

I'm not an artist....but I love to draw and explore. I love your loose peonies...I try but I'm completely not satisfied with anything I'm doing. I'm very tense to paint loose and free. I want to just be free of that mental barrer. I'm really not much for alcohol but I'm about ready to have my own wine and paint party. My question how do I allow myself to loosen up to to paint loose...is there exercise I can do??? Mental or physical exercise so I can..cut loose? I love the way you paint ..it beautiful.

So then when you add your next layers, the darker colors don't need to blend at the edges? It's ok to just leave a hard edge?
