This is beautiful!! When I started out painting, Permanent/Quin. Rose was my most perchased color next to Sap Green & New Gambouge. I practiced flowers with those 3 colors the most. I still keep a 14ml. Tube of W&N perm rose for practice days. Peonies are my favorite too. My mom planted Peonies and Hydrangea in the back yard of the house I grew up in. It was a huge back yard and there had to be at least 20 Hydrangea bushes and countless Peonies. There was a tulip bed too. For Mothers Day every year we planted Impatiens for her under a tree in the pack yard. When they needed to move, the back yard was what sold the house. There was a big bidding war for it. I now have a very limited space for flowers but I cram them in where ever I can In my small flower bed. I also have potted flowers as well. It is only fitting that I now have an obsession and grew up painting flowers.

You give so many people inspiration to get down to painting. You make it fun and you describe things as you paint. Your tutorials are actually that....tutorials and not just someone painting with music on and not even explaining what colors they are using. They demonstrate but use the word "tutorial," which really is not. One of my fav flowers too, Emma! Last one I did was a few years ago when I was learning colored pencil. Gosh, I loved that piece. Now with your tutorial I feel I can give it a go with watercolor. Thanks too, for mentioning the difference paper makes. I’m at a point now where I’m ready to give up on cheap pulp papers entirely because it feels like they’re fighting me. I only use them for practice. The good thing is though, once I move over to good cotton papers for the final piece, it’s like a soft, cool breeze with a cherry on top, lol. Blessings to you!
