That is absolutely beautiful! I just started painting a few years ago and with oils, February. I can barely put 4 colors on top of one another and you seem to layer away? What is your secret? I thought for a while I was watching acrylic, you make it look so easy!

Hi and thanks for watching. Ha. Ha. I know. I get that a lot. Part of the trick is using a light hand meaning about little pressure on the brush. Give that a try

Love the hat, Suzanne. I didn't know it was possible for you to be any more adorable! Beautiful work, really enjoyed watching it all come to life! I know the deer is the main focus, but that background and grassy field...so insanely gorgeous!!! I did have a little trouble with the audio though, seemed very low throughout and dropped even lower in your wrap up.

I suppose you could ….to get the initial shapes down. You may want to use a thin layer of acrylic paint to secure your lines before painting with oils. Thanks for watching and happy painting

the light you captured in the grass makes the painting. did you leave the area white then paint the grass over it? its brilliant.

Well thank you so much. This one was inspired by the artists Marc Rothko. So I basically I broke it all up as a color block. The light grass in the background basically was left light…not white. Beautiful Buck! I wanted to ask you if it was ok to use a pencil to draw out the animal you plan to paint Is vine charcoal better?

Hi J. And thanks. I use Vine because it erases without marking up the canvas. I personally do not do detailed drawings prior to painting. A lot of artists do use pencil but I spend way too much time doing that and if I have to erase, it leaves marks. I hope that explains it a little. Happy painting and thanks for watching

Hi Jerry. It was very likely MY sound was bad. Ha ha. Thanks for your compliment and for watching. I generally only use linseed oil when thinning my paint down a bit. If I am wanting it to dry a bit faster, I might use Galkyd instead. I hope that helps!! Happy painting to you!!!
