what kind of primer are you using? Very hard to tell and I cannot make out your words... Could you list the spray paint you are using?

Hello, I use first white primer from halfords, second is hycote red calipper paint ( just to hold better near the engine because of the heat) and last hycote clear lacquer Thanks

Is the lacquer just a protective layer? Is it necessary?

Hello, yes, it is more protective to the paint, and it make the paint to shine more,
