Looks great under that hood. The alternator spins to free, usually means the bearing are about done. Future Video (how to replace alternator bearings) and save us 400-500 dollars.

With a core exchange you can get a remanufactured 110A alternator for a C5 for

The alternators in my boat looked worse. Took apart. Cleaned and painted. Now they look new and work fine. I only replaced the bearings. They are 34 years old with 600 hours.

Awesome, I also in a hurry so I applied engine paint to mine by a brush without removal. It looks surprisingly good. I am going to replace the alternator later anyway.

Awesome video Chris , I’m going to do this idea too , great idea and cheap , ya those are real expensive but you can rebuild these so easy and way cheap they have a kit I was told, i have a question if you don’t mind answering Chris , on our cars there’s a issue sometimes with battery acid getting on the ecm , bcm vacuum lines , etc under the battery compartment , do you have any suggestions on preventing acid from the battery getting on the electric,electronics under . or would you move the battery to the trunk.i don’t think you had this issue before looks like . Chris, take the alternator to Copperstate Auto Electric & have the rebuild your OEM alternator for rebuild. I think they charged me $140 2 years ago. I used the Tucson location but it was well worth it. These cars are way to finicky when it comes to voltage to trust a non OEM alternator. Look at their website. www.tucsonalternator.com
