You have such beautiful water control Louise. And I think that is key to why your paintings are so beautiful. It is also the hardest thing to learn in watercolor. Thank you so much for sharing and for having classes on Skillshare and Patreon.

I want your book....o goodness those paintings are awesome, I love that your sharing the tutorial of all the paintings going in your book...one question does the paper ever buckle in the book, as I know you do use a lot of water and everything always seem so nice...please keep sharing with us your fantastic to watch, listen and learn from, I hope one day I can join...hugs from The USA, Florida..Maybe I can get the same book and fill it up with all your paintings....

Thanks very much Sandi. I hope you do! Yes it does buckle. Lately I've been using some Washi Tape from the hardware store to tape the pages together like it's a watercolour block. That helps a bit. 💕

Relatively simple shape + heaps of realistic detail = recipe for learning. Thank you, Louise! I'll be scavenging my yard looking for a funky leaf sometime today, lol. (p.s. Do you ever age? You probably have a 'Dorian Grey' image of yourself painted somewhere, huh? I knew there had to be some sneaky beneath that sweet face!)

youre a great teacher Louise , thank you so soo much for your videos i will go on your patreon soon to get all the full tutorials. i love the fact that you paint precisely and also have some more fluid areas on your paintings where everything isnt so detailed! personally ive found most of the tutorials on youtube for learning watercolor a bit misleading except for your videos! can i even say that ? i feel bad to say that because everyone is just trying their best and offering it gratis cannot be easy. i really enjoy watching your videos and that youre from AUz ! regards, Leah

Thank you so much for your detailed tutorials! This is the kind of practice that takes all my patience and attention but gets results! The speed of this one was even slow enough for me. My only issue was the paper I was using dried so fast - while you painted 3 sections with the first wash of red, and still had time to lift some color, my paper dried immediately so I had to do one small section at a time. I hope it's ok I posted the result on Instagram and linked to your account.
@LouiseDeMasi5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I'll have to check. One thing that might help you if you find your paper dries too quickly. You could try wetting the area you want to paint and then let it almost dry. Then wet it again and start painting. That first wetting will hopefully penetrate the layers and it might stay wetter longer for you. It could also be your paper.

I'm a beginner and have been binge watching your vids. You make the mystery of the beautiful, genteel art of watercolor painting less mysterious. Thank you so much for all you do. I have a question regarding the colors you use. Do you find yourself using certain colors more often than others? Which colors are the top most important in your paintings? Thank you🎨😁

Hello Louise, First of all let me say how happy I am to have found your videos! They are wonderful and entice me to paint. May I ask, what kind of visual diary are you using and where may we find it please? Thank you and please don't stop painting ever!!!

Beautiful! When you painted the leaf, how did you control the paint spread? It spreads onto the leaf, but never beyond the leaf edge. I love your technique.
@teresacabellospanades96055 жыл бұрын
It doesnt spread bdyond the lines because she first added a wash of clean water on the area she wants to paint. The watercolour spreads where the water was applied but not beyond it. Hope it helps
