I know that the mushrooms were supposed to be the subject and star of the Autumn woodland show, but for me those cheeky horse chestnuts snuck in and stole the show! Love their rich color and soft glow. So nicely done, so it wasn't their fault...you as the artist made them do it! 😉

Thus is really quite beautiful! I always thought Americans and UK folks spoke the same language until hubby and I started watching Line of Duty. It was hilarious because I had to keep a list and write down so many things to find out what they were talking about, I.e., 1) You fancy a cuppa? 2) bent copper, 3) Houl yer whisht, ahhhh so many but the best by far was…Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey. BTW, retreat seems phenomenal !

Good afternoon Paul! I was at a friend’s house this morning showing her how to use an app that helps you draw. Plus we painted a church together. Hers turned out great but she took longer than me to paint so I pulled up your video and painted this scene of mushrooms. Great tutorial! I posted my painting in the Facebook group. It might not be finished yet. I’ll wait and look at it again tomorrow. I have to thank you for your tutorials and for being such a generous teacher. Because of all I’ve learned from you I’m now teaching others how to paint with watercolor. You made me fall in love with watercolor and I’m sharing that love with others and seeing them love watercolor too. That’s a testimony to what a gift you are to this world. Praying your day is full of joy and happiness! Much love to Margot. Both of you are a blessing. ❤❤❤

Hello dear sweet Jacqueline! Your name is beautiful, it sounds aristocratic like Jacqueline Kennedy, Jacqueline Onassis.... A famous name. And my full name is Adelaide, in honor of the Australian city, because when I was born my dad was in Australia on a whaling ship went to sea and they were in the port of Adelaide for repairs and they told him that I was born. Dad liked the city so much that he decided to call me by that name. This is such an interesting story. I wish you, dear beauty Princess Jacqueline, good luck, health, creative growth , creativity and positivity! I am also drawing now, I want to paint all of Paul’s drawings in watercolor, there are 162 of them with today’s lesson. I downloaded all his templates from the site and now there is a lot of work. Dear Jacqueline is always glad to see you and read your messages, you are amazingly kind woman, we may have different views, beliefs, languages, we live on different sides of the planet, but man can always understand and accept who he is with all his individual characteristics!✋😊🖐️😊Peace to the world!!!

@@adelabadova3105 Aw I’m smiling so big right now! You are sweet and a bright ray of sunshine in my life. Your story of being named is so intriguing and you tell it well. I picture you painting a picture of the city while telling the story. My dad also named me. His name was Jack. I think Jacqueline Kennedy was very famous so a lot of girls were named after her. I think it’s an amazing world we live in that we can be friends being pretty much on opposite ends of the earth. God is good to have us meet. 🥰❤️🙏🏻 You are always encouraging and caring. I’m looking forward to seeing some of your art. Much love and prayers for you. 😘🙏🏻❤️

Conkers was a game we played at school. Went to a girls school and even in the mid 40s early 50s we never thought of it as a 'boys game' . Conkers have always been a joy to my eyes touch, loed the rich shiny brown and the smooth feel. A seasonal 'worry stone ' !!! Great memories 😊

Conkers are from the Horse Chestnut tree which has beautiful white ‘candles’ of flowers in the Spring, they are not edible but some people use them to keep away spiders and kids thread string through them and try to hit each others conker with the aim of splitting them and winning. Chestnuts are from the Sweet Chestnut tree and are edible, mostly roasted at Christmas or used in stuffings and nut loaves. They are contained in very prickly coverings whereas conkers have smooth ones.

Wonderful! I can't wait to start this one but I'm wrestling a minky whale this evening. The facebook group work is great to see - warm thanks to them for sharing. Conkering I loved as a kid, splitting that perfect shiny nut from the spiky shell. They could sting but does anyone remember those "clackers" from the seventies, I think. They were a pair of really hard coloured balls strung through and joined at the top. You had to start slowly "clacking" the balls together, then build up momentum till they clacked back and force at speed above your flipping wrist. I think they might have banned those after all the acci unit visits!

Hello Paul, like everyone else on this channel I will add my thanks to your demos and instructions. I have only recently discovered you and have been trying to catch up with your films (from years ago) and am loving them all. I really appreciate the info you pass on regarding paper, paints and brushes along with the percentage of each pigment. I have to say from a beginners point of view I have found one (so far) where you painted in portrait and moved your palette under the camera. This allowed me to actually see how much water you use in conjunction with the percentage of paints. This was an eye opener for me as I could see how you manage to keep the colours flowing by the amount of water you use. My paints are far too thick (like me) and are nothing like the fluid rivers you apply to paper. Could we have more of these please. Many thanks. Barry
