I am so sorry for just now responding! I haven't found a way to have a download on KZbin. I'm working on trying to figure this out, so far the only way I know is to send an attachment via email. Otherwise, you could try looking on Pixabay for an image you liked and download and trace from there. They have a ton of royalty free images to choose from! Let me know if you would like me to email the outline 👍

I love my Daniel Smith color already and then I discovered the dot card with a selection of the granulating pigments, love them so, so, so much, and many are on my bucket list! @@wordsleuth992 A dot card has small dabs of paint that you can get wet and paint with. I have a dot card from Daniel Smith that I bought at Blick art supplies. This is an inexpensive way to test out colors! Basically, granulating pigments are those with heavier and larger particles that settle into the paper as the paint dries leaving some great textural effects. It is worthwhile to find out what colors are more granulating than others. While they may be great in painting a gravel road, for instance, you may not want them in a clear blue sky!

Hi Carol, thank you!! I honestly don't remember exactly where that idea came from, (a book I think). Having the water cups one inside the other is a way to have one for rinsing the paint off and the other for cleaner water to dip into after my brush was rinsed off. (I was also trying to save space), I've seen artists who don't worry about having the water clean because typically the paint settles to the bottom and they just use the top of the water to rinse. That doesn't work for me very well! I have since gone back to having a couple of smaller containers side by side, and change out the water if it gets too mucky! Hope that helps! I haven't done that as of yet. What you can do however is find a picture you like, (Pixabay has a ton of loyalty free images), Get some tracing paper, use a bright window as a makeshift light box, tape the image to your window, tracing paper over the top, and trace around the image for an outline. Now to transfer it to the watercolor paper: tape the outline to your window, watercolor paper over the top, and lightly trace the outline onto the watercolor paper! This is a great way to practice painting a subject without the added stress of spending a ton of time trying to get the drawing just right!, hope that makes sense!

Hi Sue! So far I haven't found a way to attach a download for you to trace. If possible, here is what you could try: Find an elephant image on the internet, (be careful about copyright infringement. there should be royalty free stock photos out there), Save it to your computer, and from there you should be able to print out an 8x10 photo. Use tracing paper to get an outline of the image: tape the photo to a bright window and tape the tracing paper over the top, you will then be able to see the image pretty clearly to trace around it. Hope this helped!
