Hi Tom, very excited for the Zoom demos, have just signed up for the birds one (I'd probably sign up for all if I could!) - such a great idea. I have a question about the way you choose colour - going by this reference photo alone, I'd have probably thought I should choose a less saturated & greyer colour for the bird. Is that just how it looks in this photo (light) and are they redder in real life, or was it a choice to make the colours more vibrant, or just a chance to use more aussie red gold, or...? I'm intrigued by how you make your choices. I'd love to see you paint one of the LBJs (little brown jobs) like a female house sparrow, as I love them & imagine they'd look a lot more lively in your hands!

@@tomshepherdartist wildlife conservation! I did an A-level art and wanted to make my guide more artistic so I started watercolour! I found your tutorials really helped me with the mixing and the correct colours to use! :)

That was my other route that I nearly went down, all though it's crept back in as I do a lot of fundraising for conservation with art....I was obsessed with making painted field guides as a kid too...that sounds amazing. I'd love to see how to get on, only if you;re happy sharing of course!!!:) T

Love your work! Can you do a Cedar Waxwing sometime? We get huge flocks here in Saskatchewan in winter feeding on berries.

You seem to have quite a list by now, but maybe you can pop a murder-bird on there ;) ...how about a Cassowary, or maybe Secretary Bird? Also would be neat to do a vulture, or a turkey. They can be quite a lot more colourful than people think, especially the Ocellated Turkey!
