I totally agree! How does this not have 1000's of views and like's???? I would like to have seen how you got the thin background clouds on the second one before you started putting in the cirrus clouds with the brush.

I disagree. Is gray added in the first technique on the sponge??. We don't know that. Also what sort of sponge is it. Many unanswered questions

Hiya, All three techniques look great but I particularly like the last one with the cotton buds, as It looks like the 'Mackerel Sky' clouds that are so difficult to do with a brush. The second technique could be translateable as the white horse wave tops seen on blustery days on the sea. Thanks very much and take care.x
@IdyllicAcrylicArt

Thanks David, I didn't know the term 'Mackerel Sky' so I've learned something today too! It's surprising what effects you can create with everyday objects instead of a brush. 😊Take care.

@@IdyllicAcrylicArt 7.10am here with a gorgeous blue Pennine sky and a Blackbird really going for it ! Mackerel sky is that effect quite often seen in the winter in GB where ice crystals form really high up in the atmosphere giving a wavy barred effect like the pattern on the side of a Mackerel. x

@@IdyllicAcrylicArt When working with acrylic paints do you let a layer dry before adding the next part of the painting? Example: When painting the clouds do you let the blue sky part dry before doing the clouds? Thank you for the encouragement and reply.

You need to explain a bit more for us beginners. What type of sponge, the back ground blue, what color of blues and do you use in the back ground? the different greys in the clouds?? how many different greys are there? Is that an ice scape on the bottom. You do amazing work, but us beginngers need more info not music. TY
@IdyllicAcrylicArt
@IdyllicAcrylicArt 3 жыл бұрын
thanks for your comment. 😊There is a link in the description for the sponge used, but any artist sponge will create a similar effect. I used cobalt blue, but again you could use any blue you like depending on the sky you are painting. I used paynes grey and white for greys, but any grey would do depending on the effect you want. I painted a simple mountain on the bottom to show how the clouds work with any landscape. I will definitely try to give more information in future videos, thanks so much for the feedback. 👍
