Yep. I did that to several of my cheap brushes too. I got ones that weren't thick, and cut into the bristles holding my scissors in such a way that it cut straight into the bristles, with short, quick cuts. I've seen hair salon places do it to their customer's hair! They are great for painting grasses and animal hair, etc! Thanks for the download!!

A few years ago while traveling for work was in a hotel room with clouds painted on the ceiling. Loved the effect. So calming. Always wanted to do that at my house but didn't have the knowhow. Thanks to you videos I'm gonna give it a shot.

Going to do this in my new studio under construction in the main space with the sloped ceiling. I'm thinking of doing a starry night theme in the small hallway with the the barrel vault. The hard part is going to be getting the lighting just right, after the painting of course!

how would i make my clouds pink like when you painted the ceiling in LA? should i use a pink as my shadow color?
@kalam-e-musafir14014 жыл бұрын
sir pls tell me wich colour use for ceiling cloud painting
@bjelfin4 жыл бұрын
Did I miss something? What color did you use for the shadows? Is it gray, or a blend of gray and blue? I did a cloud ceiling a few years ago, but I'm not satisfied with it yet. I want a more realistic look. I've having problems with getting the shadows done correctly, and on the right place. I like the idea of wetting the area first. Do you use a faux glazing medium mixed in your paint or an extender to slow the drying time?

My paint dries very quickly on the wall, how do I process the wall before work? Or what need to add something to the paint already? Thank you!
@GarmanyRachel4 жыл бұрын
That’s an integration topper:) It’s for people who have a small area of thinning, you pull some of your real hair through the bottom to help it blend.
@muraljoe4 жыл бұрын
Oh..Thanks. Good to know. That was a very good tool for wispy details. Perhaps I'll use it for it's intended purpose someday!

previous owners of my house added a lovely white textured wallpaper to the ceiling, I want to keep them like that but i also want clouds on my ceiling, do you think that i would be able to achieve that even with the textures. By textures i mean patterns with indents.

how crucial is to put mud on a ceiling for texture? Does it improve the outlook drastically?

I am a dormant artist. It has been almost 10 years since, I last picked up a brush. I have always admired and studied Caravagio, Tinian, Leonardo, and Michelangelo. I have always wanted to do a ceiling. I have this bedroom that needed some work so here , I go. That urge to paint came back. I must ask. Do you have any artist of inspiration.

I'm currently doing a ceiling for my daughter and she doesn't really like it. Can I send you a picture and you can help me?
@evgenihristov46644 жыл бұрын
when you choose oils and when acrylics? thanks
@muraljoe4 жыл бұрын
Hi there Evgeni. I use oils for canvas paintings when I really want to go slower on the details and get a softer more blended look. Oils also leave behind more attractive brush texture in my opinion. I rarely use oils though since I can accomplish my purposes acrylics most of the time.
@evgenihristov46644 жыл бұрын
muraljoe thanks! I like your videos. You are very good with acrylics. 🙂

So did you texture to smooth out already pre textured ceiling. So you dont want to paint clouds on a textured ceiling?
@muraljoe4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the ceiling was textured and painted already. Smoothing over it just allows me to make a more realistic sky without texture shadows in it. But it's not necessary.
