Excellent orange, really nice touch using a flesh color as a highlight. Try out vallejo’s martian orange express paint as an experiment. It’s more saturated and a little red, but you might like it as an alternative. For my own I use a yellow undercoat and a mixed trollslayer, trollslayer air, thinner and water for a sort of amateur contrast. It’s okay, need to make a better mix, but it’s served me well as a one coat top layer paint. I also only paint small panels, not the whole body. I’ll try your idea and just layer normally, to see if It’s better.

How would you do battle damage on the orange armour and black armour????

I would use a warm brown like Doombull brown and then highlight the damage with the pastel orange (Lugganath Orange by citadel) assuming that you’re doing the damage over the troll slayer orange :)

I believe it was Abaddon black :) the only other black I use besides Abaddon black is Vallejo black, which has more of a matte finish

Every now and then when doing the lighter orange trim, you wipe the brush on your own hand first. Why is this?

Isn't the Covenant of fire a Salamanders successor chapter? so shouldn't they black skin? or did they have a genetic deviation like the Black Dragons?

Hmm interesting point. I knew that they were a successor chapter of the salamanders but I didn’t know about that specific description. Hoping it works. One of the other eradicators will be from the Black Vipers chapter which is also a successor of the salamanders :)

The black skin of the salamanders isn’t a gene-seed flaw, it comes from whatever radiation protection organ being on full blast all the time due to their home planet. Since the Covenant isn’t from Nocturne, they won’t have the skin

The salamanders genetic deviation only activates under the radiation from the sun of their home system.

All the salamander successors from Ultima founding are highly suspected to be from Traitor Geneseed so its likely they wouldn't have the genetic deviation

The skin pigment of the salamanders has to do with the radiation of nocturne, so they would not have that genetic change.
