How to Paint Cute Colorful Cats for Beginners | Easy Tutorial to Master Loose Watercolor Painting

Today’s project is a two-in-one. We’re going to practice our wet-in-wet technique, and at the same time create a cute greetings card we can use for anyone and for any occasion.
It’s a simple design of three stylised cats, and I’m using the lovely A. Gallo paints to create this, on a piece of Arches 140lb watercolor paper, cold pressed.

Favorite ever!!! They are so cute. My mind is racing with variations. You know you can easily remove that bottom flap with no damage to the palette whatsoever. I use a tiny screwdriver to insert in end of the flap where it joins the palette and push out the small metal rod that holds it. I save mine. Keep thinking I will use them-but haven't so far. Tip courtesy of Miranda Watkins.

Thanks so much for your support Beth! When you see the latest dragonfly video you'll notice that by then I'd figured that out, with the help of my daughter (who's an engineer by trade!) I might put the lids back on at some point so I've slotted the rods back into the hinge edges where they stay without any problem. Thanks for mentioning this though! Happy painting!!

Hi Diane, I’m from Rochester New York. There is a cat that is blue, it’s called a blue Russian. It has grey mixed with the blue. In the sun light you can see the blue.
