Excellent explanation of blocking in three colors to create the basic skin color. So far your explanation of painting dark skin has been the easiest for me to understand. Love the realism of your portrait.

Thanks for this. Really helped me, especially with regard to the right stages at colour blocking and then the blending approach. I am a newbie with working on skin as I tend to do landscapes/furry animals. Still some similar principles but I've always been nervous about portraits. Thanks again for sharing. This is a really helpful tutorial. Thank you. Easy to follow with enough structure for us to understand which steps to take and consider. The video showed the messy process and the end goal which helps so that when I try and it looks messy, I dont quickly discard it but keep going until the end / desired results starts to emerge.

Thank you for the video! Did you use something to keep your paint moist? Usually, such a small amount of acrylic dries very quickly.
