It's funny, practically every week something comes out where I think "oh I want to paint that," but I have never in my entire life thought that I wanted to paint a Death Guard model. It feels like painting a cold. But really enjoyed this tutorial.

Funny, I just got up from painting my Death Guard Kill Team and earlier today I painted the very same model you are using in the video. While I have a set color scheme for my own models, I have a second set of them I am painting for a friend and maybe I am going to use some of the techniques used here for those to differentiate. One piece of advice regarding priming these models for other viewers: For some reason I can never get the GW Death Guard Green spray to work properly for me. It always comes out fuzzy and ruins the model. I recently purchase Death Rattle Green from The Colour Forge which is advertised as color-matched to Death Guard Green. Unfortunately I found the shades are slightly off. In that case the model has to be painted with a layer of DGG from the pot if that is the color one is aiming for. Also, I have a question regarding the Vallejo Dark Aluminum you are using. Is that the 77.703? I bought a bottle of this largely because you are using it. Turns out it is a color meant for Air brushes. I can make it work a bit by removing excess water with a paper towel, I don't think that is the intended use. It also seeps into the sponge of my wet palette which is annoying. However, that is the only Vallejo color I can find that is labeled "Dark Aluminium". Can you tell me the product number on the bottle you are using?

Same issue I had with valejo paints before I stopped using them. If your brush is already decently wet or if it holds water too well, the air paints go on and look pretty bad.

Again regarding my other comment, could you tell me the product number for the Vallejo Dark Aluminium paint you are using? I am unsure whether I got the right one since the one I got is supposed to be an airbrush paint.

77.703 is the one - I don't use it on a wet palette - I just put some into a dry palette well - it needs to be very well shaken - and is a lot thinner than normal acrylics as it is designed for an airbrush - the coverage is still great with a normal brush however

@@ThePaintingCoach Thank you. I will try it with a dry palette and experiment more. I have used the paint on some models (particularly my Night Lords Kill Team) and liked the result, but I found working with it a bit hard since it also seems to separate rather quickly and the aforementioned issues on the wet palette. Hopefully I will learn to work with it better.

I just compared the Kill Team models with models from a regular Death Guard Plague Marines box. The KT models are very slightly bigger, but it is hardly noticeable if they are standing next to each other. Don't think it is really a problem.
