Thank you for the tutorial! They came out really good. I accidentally did Basilicanum Gray on the shoulder pads and helmet instead of Black Templar on my test model but it looked pretty good and used it on all of them.

Thank you! Contrast paints are great and don’t need to be flooded on. I like the watercolour effect they can give and being able to just add one coat in most cases really speeds the process up. Thanks for watching! 👊

amazing, i didnt personally use contrasts yours looks great ,cant get over how beautiful the models are, i did alot of tweaking and managed to get the crouching medic to be a demolitions expert, gave the running medic the crouching ones arms and made the last normal guardsman into the spotter great vid

It's great the bar of "tabletop ready" can be raised just by replacing your basecoats with contrast. I don't buy GW paints often because I'm an airbrush guy, but if I do some 28mm in the future I'll give it a shot.

The bindings at the bottom are more correctly called puttees. "A puttee, also spelled puttie, is the name, adapted from the Hindi paṭṭī, bandage for a covering for the lower part of the leg from the ankle to the knee" Great vids btw keep up the good work.

Great video! Do you have a video about how you mix the paint?
@tabletopskirmishgames3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a separate video on this, but I mix it in a plastic lid from a hummus pot. I add the paint using a brush but if you want precise measurements you could use a pipette. Thanks for watching 👊

Hey! Hope you still read these comments, just wondering how do you mix the paints in that 2:2:1 ratio? Im not having a good understanding of that. Any help would be great, Thank you!
@tabletopskirmishgames Жыл бұрын
Hey, Quinn! I dip my brush in and clean it off in between paints (I find it's good to moisten the brush first). You could also use pipettes for precision measurements. These can be found pretty cheap on amazon, here's a link ... amzn.to/409Pvgy

Hi and tx for your great YT-channel. I have a question, is there a special reason that you use wraith bone instead of Corax White?
@tabletopskirmishgames3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! When I started painting it was advertised as Contrast undercoat so I went with it. I tried white and grey as a base but didn't like the finish as much. I always planned to try out some zenethal priming with grey and then wraith bone.

Do you use the contrast paint straight from the pot, or are you mixing it with a little water on a palette?
@tabletopskirmishgames3 жыл бұрын
I mostly use it straight out of the pot and can usually find the colour I like from the selection. I do twist my brush in the pot to get a nice tip, though. Sometimes I might mix in some Contrast Medium on a palette, but not that often.

@@tabletopskirmishgames Alright, thanks. Getting ready to paint my Kriegsmen :)
@maxklein91812 жыл бұрын
Could you also use black as a primer, or do you recomend grey or white?
@tabletopskirmishgames2 жыл бұрын
For contrast, black isn't good. Grey works well and zenithal is highly recommended, though I don't tend to do that for the tabletop ready standard.

Quick question: what three paints did you use for the medals on his chest?
