Glad to see the new tutorial is here! As usual, great work Andy :) Quick note for the paint lists overall, Andy uses some Air paints, but you should be able to achieve what you desire with Base/Layer variants as well. As for 143rd, there is one gold paint used for the Imperial Aquila that is not mentioned in the video itself, but my wild guess, it's Retributor Armour (Base). The paint list for the 143rd: Space Wolves Grey (Contrast) Wyldwood (Contrast) Skeleton Horde (Contrast) Leadbelcher (Base) Blood Angel Red (Contrast) Seraphim Sepia (Shade) The Fang (Base) Mournfang Brown (Base) Zandri Dust (Air) Mephiston Red (Base) The paint list for the 158th: Militarum Green (Contrast) Skeleton Horde (Contrast) Black Templar (Contrast) Aggaros Dunes (Contrast) Leadbelcher (Base) Nuln Oil (Shade) Straken Green (Layer) Corvus Black (Base) Zandri Dust (Air) Mephiston Red (Base) The paint list for the 19th: Skeleton Horde (Contrast) Aggaros Dunes (Contrast) Black Templar (Contrast) Leadbelcher (Base) Seraphim Sepia (Shade) Zandri Dust (Air) Tallarn Sand (Air) Black Templar (Contrast) Corvus Black (Base) Mechanicus Standard Grey (Base) Mephiston Red (Base) Remember Guardsmen, The Emperor Protects!

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you. Recently came back to the hobby after a 25-year hiatus (I stopped playing somewhere around the time the Tau and Necrons were first released, if memory serves), and your videos on how to use contrast paints and your tutorials on how to paint Cadian troops and vehicles have been invaluable to get me back into painting. I particularly appreciate that I can follow your instructions up to halfway of the video for a very good looking but doable result, or continue with the second half to achieve an even better outcome. From an old Cadian sergeant: thanks, man.

Hi Andy love your content ! I would have went with Baneblade Brown for the helmet and shoulder pads on the 19th Krieg. That way it still would have been in that brown family of colors but it wouldn't be the same color. Black is too much of a contrast. I've got to say that the 158th color scheme is probably my favorite. I won't be doing Krieg this year. I'm doing an HDF army for One Page Rules. Using a green scheme. And that's after I finish like three other projects😂😂😂 Have a great year and happy painting. 🖌️

A very interesting video to see you do multiple colour schemes at the same time, I would quite like to see the all black scheme because similar to the desert I think you would have to adjust it to make it work. And one of the more urban grey schemes would also be interesting because I often see grey schemes that kinda look like they’re still in the primer stage so again a hard one to make work well I think.

Hey, I love the schemes! I think those little tube things on the bottom of the backpack are supposed to be storage for the gas mask when it's not being worn.which is funny considering they wear them all the time, so maybe it's just extra storage.

Answer to the first question in the video: yes, I would absolutely love to see more videos of this type and your approach to more Krieg colour schemes! Answer to the second question in the video: I prefer the green one, because that's my favourite colour :). My kriegsmen kill team are still waiting to be painted and they are staring at me since Octarius came out in 2021. I also asked my FLGS to grab me a copy of the Army Set, so if they are able to do so I will have all those lovely horsies to paint, as well as those new engineers and the artillery piece :). I have devised a scheme that was a mix of the blue and green ones and bought the paints in early 2022, but now I think I should actually print a proxy and test it out to decide whether I actually like it or not :). BTW, on the last stream I attended I wrote that I was on day 18 of my hobby streak. Now I'm on day 53 and already started my mini for today!

Happy Krieg Year to Mediocre Hobbies! So looking forward to seeing the DK in all their plastic glory! At the moment, I"m planning to paint them similar to your 143rd, but with blue trousers, not brown. The only other thing I'm concerned about is the helmet colour, as I'm using WW1 French Horizon Blue uniforms as my inspiration, so I'll need to think of something there. Would love to see some more random uniforms as this might help my own thinking processes!

the black on the last looks better than the tan color
@genedean292 күн бұрын
I do like the black in the desert scheme the most, and the black was a good way to break up the colors. I would have gone towards a leather brown color instead of thinking to do black. I would love to see the all black coat, as highlighting that would be the part I would need the most help with...the right type of grey? is it warm, is it neutral?

the black and tan desert scheme looks great. reminds me of the british tank camo in north africa during ww2. I will be starting a krieg army when the new box is released but i am waiting to make a color choice until i see if you make guides for any of the others.. if you dont it will be the desert since i already paint too much green from my bolt action armies.

Desert scheme looks great, but it looks too close to steel legion/talarn(sp?), and since my kreig to do pile includes a lagr ziplock bag of steel legion gifted to me from another gamers hobby well of shame. Ill probably do the greyblue coat with wildwood trousers, but leave them darker, the mornfang brown is too bright for me.

If you have ever seen a veteran platoon of enlisted men and nco's, then you will notice one thing. There is no standard looking uniform. I am talking in any platoon on parade. In formation. The united states army , which is one of the best equipped militaries in the world is a prime example. On trooper will have desert boot another will have different boots, different webbing, different plate carriers, different ponchos. Different degrees of wear. In some if not all units, different helmets , dofferent camo. There is a difference in coloration due tou wear. My point is that you can have all of those minis in the same unit and it will actually make the unit look more realistic. Imagine if you will a veteran unit that has just recieved replacements. The replacements are from different parts of krieg. The uniforms might be of the same pattern, they might not. They might be of the same material, they might not. The veterans might be from different front or spent time on different planets in different regiments. A real life for instance. A vietnam marine that is carrying an NVA pack (because it was roomier) . Or a ww2 german wearing an american field jacket because it was warmer or a german schutz carrying a ppsh subgun because it was more dependable. Soldiers pick things up. Any way sorry to run on. I hope this helps. Minis are fun. Enjoy them.
