How to paint details with underglaze on a ceramic plate ✨

Your art is so beautiful! What cone did you fire it to for the glaze? When I put a clear coat on after the bisque fire, it blurs what I paint ☹️ maybe I’m choosing the wrong temperature?

Thank you so much✨ we don’t use the cone system but I fire the bisque at 1000 C and then the glaze at 1020 C, if I’m looking at the correct chart that’s cone 5 1/2. This was instructed by the place I bought the clay and the glaze. The problem you are having could be a number of things, like the glaze could be to thick, or maybe the glaze you are using isn’t the best choice for the type of clay you are using. I have no idea why but I used to have a problem with a certain glaze on different types of clay, so I’ve learned it’s best to follow the manufacturer guidelines. Hope this helped:)

@@majoliCATart yes thank you! That’s what I fired it to haha I’m still new to pottery so I have a lot more testing to do with clay and glazes that work well together :) but I’ll definitely keep trying! Literally loading a kiln now 😅
