Thank you so much for this. I just received the game last week and your videos and advice/comments are helping immensely. I have never done miniature painting before therefore it's highly appreciated!

Thanks for the videos! I just got my box and was thinking of trying out painting as well :D Your videos look to be the perfect tutorial! I didn't get any paints in my box though, but I don't remember if I ordered the paint set or not.

I didn't order the paint set either since I already had most of the paints, but if I remember correctly, the paint set (if you ordered it) should have arrived separately several weeks ago. If you want to get all the paints, they are listed in the paint guide provided by Larian (drive.google.com/file/d/1OsrXVypiR6olFi3Pv0Q4YWKVjkjmDQ4V/view). These are all separately available from the Vallejo Game Color line, but note that "Cadmium Skin" has been renamed simply to "Skin Tone". If you're buying piecemeal, I also highly recommend instead of buying the washes from Vallejo, get Citadel washes instead - I really don't like the viscosity of the Vallejo washes and I'm only using them because they were included in the set. If you buy Citadel, you would use "Nuln Oil" in place of "Black Wash" and "Reikland Fleshshade" instead of "Flesh Wash". Happy Painting!

Thank you for your videos, I find them great! My package should be arriving today and there's a lot of enthusiasm around it, as it is the first time to have a 'proper' board game and first time to have miniatures as well. Would you advise please for a good set of paints? Since I do not trust so much my mixing color skills I'm thinking a medium/extended set with more choices is better. I have followed your video for the primer/varnish/brushes, as well your answer to @ foreignsgamingtech, where I want to ask you how is "Reikland Fleshshade" to be used? (I believe "Nuln Oil" is used on capes, and maybe armors, to give the shades impression). Another thing which seems very useful, the wet palette - are you using specific foam/spounge, parchment paper? Or just standard backing paper? (around here the supermarket backing paper is kinda cream)

Thanks so much. Hope you enjoy painting them! Disclaimer: some products I link are affiliate links, so if you click and buy from them, I get a portion of the sale. -- Good set of paints -- I'm actually not a big fan of mixing, either :) I'm just using the limited palette of the paints that were included with the Kickstarter to keep the cost of entry low. You could go with a larger Vallejo set like this one: amzn.to/3RVxSy9. It probably won't have everything you need, but if you're just starting out and you've got a friendly local gaming store, I'd recommend just picking up new colors piecemeal as you need them. One other thing you can do is just find a color that's close to what you want, and then, if you want it darker, add a little black, and if you want lighter, add a little white. Certain colors may not change exactly in the way you want, but that should get you 80% of the way there. If you're looking for a much larger set, you could go with the Scale75 Fantasy and Games set (scale75usa.com/products/fantasy-games-collection), which should cover all your bases (however these paints can be a little hard to work with). It can get expensive though, so if you're just starting out you might want to spend less until you're sure you like the hobby. You already mentioned the Nuln Oil & Reikland Fleshshade - regardless of what paints you buy, get both of these (and also Agrax Earthshade, which you can use on anything brown or to make something look dirty). -- Wet Palette -- I'm using the Army Painter wet palette (amzn.to/47AJQ5R), which comes with everything you need. If you're looking to make your own, though, you'll want to use non-waxed parchment paper (something like this amzn.to/48AczsP). Vince Venturella JUST released an in-depth video on wet palettes you may want to check out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXvFZmugfL6Lqsk Happy Painting!

Hello, first thank you for making these videos. Secondly I never painted any minis nor had any until I received the all in box for Divinity Board Game but I didn’t realised 3 years ago how many minis there will be so I would like to try to paint them by following your videos! Now to my issue, is there a way to provide a list with the paint colors since I cannot find anywhere the paint set they had on the kickstarter. Thank you and have a good one!

Glad you like them! As for the paint set, I think it was only available as an add-on to the Kickstarter and cannot be purchased at retail. The paint guide lists the colors, though: drive.google.com/file/d/1OsrXVypiR6olFi3Pv0Q4YWKVjkjmDQ4V/view Here's the full list, along with my recommendations for replacements. Unless otherwise specified, these are all Vallejo Game Color paints - Warlord Purple - Magic Blue - Bloody Red - Goblin Green - Brassy Brass - Sun Yellow - Glorious Gold - Cadmium Skin (renamed to simply "Skin Tone" - Chainmail Silver - Dead White - Bone White - Beasty Brown - Stonewall Grey - Black - Flesh Wash (buy Citadel's Reikland Fleshshade instead) - Black Wash (buy Citadel's Nuln Oil instead)

Since this video is about prepping the miniatures for painting, I have a question about certain models for example Braccus Rex from your unboxing video that has a long thin weapon handle that really isn't as straight as it should be. In preparation for painting what would you do to correct this? Is there anything you do to strengthen it?
@boardwithpaint
@boardwithpaint 7 ай бұрын
Great question! I have a video on straightening out stuff like this here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqiWnYJpm8xko8U. As far as strengthening, there's not much I'm aware of you can do for thin pieces like that, apart from cutting up the weapon and mounting the pieces to a brass rod or something. Usually, applying heat like in the video above is enough to keep things straight, unless the packaging forces it to bend again.
